Worst prescription service ever
Worst prescription service ever. They constantly screw up prescriptions and make arbitrary requirements like a new doctor pre authorization for just a refill.

USELESS if I need my medicine I can guarantee express scripts will mess it up. They tell me I have no refills left yet their dashboard shows I have 5 refills yet. they told me to contact my doctor as there is nothing they can do for me.

Express? Heh. That's funny. They send a list of meds they carry, your doc calls in a generic med. ES calls and says they don't have that med, would you like the brandname version? Suddenly, your co-pay goes from $5 to $50. 5 days after your Rx is called in, you check to see why you still haven't received it. It's in processing (what's the name of the company, again? Slo-Mo Scripts?). You call and say you need the Rx your doc called in 5 days ago. They say they'll expedite it for $20. You agree. Next day, still processing. You call and ask WTH?!? They say that expedited shipping doesn't expedite processing. That still takes 7 to 10 days. And if you need your meds ASAP, ask your doc to call the pharmacy so you can get a 30 days supply. That will cost $25. Just skip this place. Go to CVS or Walgreens. Pay them the $10 to deliver to you if you can't drive. Express (heh) Scripts is a scam.

Doctor sent prescription. I asked them to fill it on their web site. They said I needed to phone them and give permission for them to fill it. I did, and their agent said I'd receive it in about a week (which would have been fine). Instead, they farted around doing nothing for a week, then they said they were filling it, followed a few minutes later by telling me the prescription was now too old and I'd have to get my doctor to re-send it. I've seen competence. This isn't it.

This has to be the most inept and unqualified team of people working for ES. Customers, watch every penny from your CC if you have it linked. In fact, don’t link at debit or CC to them. File a complaint with the District Attorney in the state they are in. Somebody pleas do something about them!!!!

CONTINUALLY lose faxes and ask for re-sends, often more than once. Often do not reply to status update requests with information requested. Never apologize/take responsibility for errors made; make excuses instead. Can take VERY long times to send reimbursements, requiring time consuming follow-ups and information repeats: are they hoping I'll forget? Almost seems intentional given the many instances. Or else hugely negligent.

Using this company has been a nightmare. I recently turned 26 and was moved off of my parents insurance onto my own. I signed up for the exact same plan as my parents (Cigna open access plus - high) but for some reason Cigna is only giving me the option to fill my prescriptions via express scripts (probably because they bought the company). Long story short, I’ve been on the phone with them for 8+ hours over the last two days trying to fill a simple prescription I’ve been taking for years. For some reason, every representative and department I talk to gives me different answers and says the last person I spoke with was incorrect. For example, I checked how much the medication would cost and was told it is $35 (normally I pay $25). After the prescription was filled I was charged $153, over a 500% markup from my normal payment. I asked six different representatives in three departments to confirm the payment amount BEFORE I was charged to ensure it would be affordable, which it clearly is not. Please never do business with this company. If I had any other option I wouldn't bother. I have never had such a problem getting a simple prescription filled before (and my dr even contacted them multiple times on my behalf!)

Criminals. I have used ES for many years. On 2/28/23, I reordered 3 maintenance meds, they are all generic. While waiting, I went to local RX to get some pills to hold me over. On 3/2/23, I received a call from ES telling me they wouldn’t ship my meds as my account was on hold due to me owing them $115. I looked online and I have a zero balance???. I ask what is it for, I don’t have a balance and my card is on file for any orders. I am informed that it is a charge from 12/21/20 that was turned over to collections on 8/24/21? She asked if I would like to talk to a nurse about the implications of not taking blood pressure medications. Seriously! After 8 phone calls, 2 supervisors and a whole bunch of fools, they tell me their records only go back 18 months and they don’t know why I owe them but I need to pay it for them to ship my meds. The last call they said it was my employer who sent it to collections. Really, they have the means to withhold from my check. Bunch of liars. Customer service has no means to contact their own account receivable department. They shipped meds for 2 years after this supposed hold was placed on me in August 21. They had my card on file. They can’t tell you why your account has a zero balance but want you to pay $115 owed to them before they ship my generic meds. they offer a nurse who can tell you what happens if you quit taking your meds. After 7 hours over the course of two weeks, I had my doctor cancel all prescriptions with ES and send them to a local pharmacy and to note in my file to send me for a mental evaluation if I ever tell them to send another prescription to Express Scripts.
