Awful POS system. Terrible and not intuitive back end. Terrible support. Consistent problems with stock control. All of the people doing their phone support seem to have no idea how the software works. Do not buy. Ever.

When the system works, it's great - however when we have a network problem, as we have recently had. the support is pretty dissapointing. Our network/revel has been down since a recent burglary at our cafe and we have since been able to connect with our replacement equipment. I have had to pay for a local IT guy to sort the problem. This has caused great headaches and a lot of time on the phone. I should be able to count on local revel supplied IT people. I was told on the phone that there are none in Melbourne and that I'd have to fly someone from the States. This notion is ridiculous and if I didn't have my local IT fix it today I would have cancelled my Revel agreement and gone to Counter.

A lot of issues with the call center over the year, and many bugs with updates that has a lot of issues with our other vendors i.e. LevelUp, and credit card company

Excellent POS system. It has saved me so much time as a shop owner. Also , easy for employees to use .It has improved our customer check out time greatly and our customers love that they can email the receipt . Inventory control is great so ordering is done in a timely manner so items are continuously available. This system is well worth the investment .

The cost keeps going up for any new add-ons and quite honestly I have been having problems for 3 years. We were not set up correctly and have never recovered. Each person I talk to doesn't seem to know anything and has to ask some one else. For example, my sales person, while very nice and responsive, couldn't answer 70% of my questions and had to ask someone else. I was set up with an up-grade that doesn't work at all. We have a designated customer service person, who has to get back to me for every question I ask. Every call in to Revel help is a minimum of an hour and often results in escalating me to the 2nd tier. All I see with Revel is problem after problem. The main headquarters is literally 10 miles away from me and I can not get a live person to come to my place and see what we are dealing with both in POS set-up issues and on the back end issues. I am currently looking for a new POS company.

I love my revel system, so simple to use and there customer service is great any time I call them . I have recommended Revel to several friends of mine.

After the promises were made and the money changed hands, the Sydney office disappeared. They dropped off the gear and didn't answer the phone for two weeks right whilst we were trying to open. When we finally did get them, they refused to come on our site and do a proper install and implementation (paid up front). We were told to call tech support for set up questions and training or watch their videos. Joke! No project management, no after sales follow up, no implementation support. Completely under staffed and under trained support. Every question gets tier2 escalation with no response for days until you get the dreaded email. "We haven't heard from you on ticket xxxxx so we are closing the ticket". Unless this changes and fast they will not be operating much longer. At this point, I could not recommend this POS to anyone. Run away! Unless this improves, as soon as we can we afford it we will be changing systems. It's too bad. The software has most of the functionality we need (advertised) , but it has been a nightmare of trial and error to get things setup. I wish that were entirely true. We gave Revel the date we would be opening and when we would be ready for the install. They said there would be no one to install then and if we didn't pick the date they (Revel) chose, it would be 2-3 weeks before they were available to bring the gear and install. They assure us that someone would be dale to help us once the site was ready. We did the install ourselves as we had no choice to either try and work it out or delay 2 weeks. When we tried to raise the Sydney office the week before we opened, no one answered the phone and no one responded. When we did get a response and I asked for help and requested a site visit and some training (pre-paid), I was told that was impossible. I was told to just watch videos or call support. I had to agree to travel to Sydney for the further training. If you want to give me a call and review the documentation. Feel free but don't accuse me of not performing my obligations the best I can in a situation brought on by Revel. The Sydney office has done the best they can under a poor situation. I don't know what went on, as there were personnel changes during this period of time. I place the responsibility for this fail at the feet of Revel Systems management and you can take this opportunity to change an unhappy customer into a life long cheerleader. Blaming the customer with out speaking to the customer, when you get a bad review is not a good strategy. Sydney tried to get this on board with the limited resources they had and with little help from the mother ship. I need to know if you are going to support the Australia office. I want to know if you are committed to having a customer who will grow with Revel, or if this was just a line item on a sales report.

At first, I was impressed. Revel staff was friendly, helpfull. And then Revel decided to fire almost everyone except support. Then I have faced the fact that a lot of features doesn't work on Lithuanian version and nobody from Revel cares about it. Online ordering - looks like beta, terrible experience. Support - even worse. At first, they say "give me some time, I have to ask my colleague what to do", then repeats what you already know. An app stopped working in the middle of the day without any warning twice - Apple killed old version and Revel forgot to warn their customers. Please, do something with "Inventory" part. Now you can export every column EXCEPT "class". Why?
