the worst. They make it absolutely impossible to help an aging and dying parent. My mom is 87 and near death and I'm trying to help her pay her bills and get funds. I have power of attorney and setup an account so I can transfer. I did everything they said to and submitted documents. they say it will take 2 days to review. They never reviewed, never responded to the email. 10 days later and I can't transfer funds to this account. CROOKS

Direct Express Breaks Federal Law and Preys on Disabled Cardholders
My card was stolen and drained for $3,368.99. On April 22, 2026, I opened a fraud case. On the phone, they explicitly promised me that sending an intake email and filling out the fraud questionnaire would suffice, and that they would release a provisional credit within 10 days while they investigated. It was a complete lie.
Instead of doing a real investigation, they quietly closed my case on the 12th business day without ever notifying me; I had to call them myself just to find out it was shut down. They completely neglected to pull any ATM security footage or camera reels. When I escalated the case, they just sent me a massive 26-page denial letter to clear their desks.
Now, they have a 'Cardholder Advocate' named Stephanie who is verbally threatening to dismiss my active identity theft claim unless I produce commercial travel receipts for a private church missionary trip—a direct violation of CFPB Regulation E guidelines. They even fabricated notes on my internal profile claiming I 'knew the suspect.'
Immediately after our call, I sent her an email explicitly stating how poorly she handled my case, detailing the immense anxiety she was causing my medical conditions, and banning her from calling my phone line ever again. She completely dismissed my boundary and sent back a highly unprofessional response that simply said: 'Thank you for your email.' I have already filed formal reports with the FTC, the CFPB, and the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. They are a fraudulent, hostile company that violates federal banking laws. Avoid them at all costs!

I would rate it worst bank ever…
I would rate it less than this if I could. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Wait times for me have always been close to 21/2-3 hours and still not get anything resolved. Worst banking experience repeatedly I have uncountered. You can lose access to your own money for months if there is a problem just trying to contact them alone is a problem then getting anything fixed lots more problems. As if we have2-3 hours to contact the bank in order to even activate a card is stupid since you cant do much of anything online or thru the phone. It should be illegal we have to deal with a bank who is allowed to have "customer service" such as this. Especially when this is where we get our social security disability checks direct deposited to. This is probably a good portion of how come we have a homelessness crisis because if you have a mental health disability and can't get your money or talk to the bank easily you can lose your housing and everything else during the process of trying to fix a banking issue especially if you are not mentally strong enough to. My check got suspended because the post office lost it and by the time it took to figure out what happened get thru to all the right people and things needed I lost literally everything. Hard enough to live on 900 something a month without the extra problems this bank can do to your mental health, It is 100 percent a violation

** Contact classaction.net if you've…
** Contact classaction.net if you've been denied reimbursement for fraud.
This company is so awful that it's literally unbelievable. It's hard to get a hold of a representative at all. I had fraud on my card. Over $1,000 was stolen. It took 7 calls and over 4 hours (total) of wait time to get through to the fraud dept. Now, I can't get a reaponse from the fraud team as to whether or not they recieved my claim. I learned that several lawsuits have been filed and then dropped or settled, so there's obviously a problem.
Avoid this company all together if possible and ALWAYS DOCUMENT EVERY CALL - THE REP'S NAME, THE TIME, THE DATE, THE DETAILS, THE WAIT TIME, AND GET AN AUDIO RECORDING OF EVERY CALL YOU MAKE!

So remind you this is my daughter's…
So remind you this is my daughter's card . She gets her benefits from her deceased father . So 1 day I decided to download the app to this card . Never knew that is was a app to this care . Curiosity killed the cat so I searched to make sure for myself . I download the app and realize that it was small transactions being made on the card that I knew nothing about . Ask call customer service been on hold for over 3 hours at some point sometimes 2 hours . So its over 600 and some dollars that has been taken off her card of a long period of time . I've called over and over sent in evidence to show where and when it was done . Money behind taking off by different merchants that I do not have in my own . So today I talked to a manager and nothing was still done . Said that it was denied because of that been over 120 days . But again I say I would have never known if I didn't download the app . So now they've been giving me the runaround telling me I have to do the same thing over again . It's sad and as hard as life is and everything is so high and going up nobody has 600 and some dollars to give to anybody . But I will get to the bottom of these in due time .

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
To Whom It May Concern,
I am filing this formal complaint against US Direct Express (Direct Reserve Credit Card) regarding deceptive business practices, failure to deliver services, and unauthorized credit inquiries.
I applied for a credit card with this company over two months ago. Upon approval and being assigned a credit limit, I paid an initial fee as requested. Subsequently, I was asked for an additional fee, which I paid in good faith. I was informed that my card would arrive within 7-10 business days. That timeline commenced on April 16, 2026. As of today, June 1, 2026, I have yet to receive the card.
My experience with their customer service has been unprofessional and increasingly suspicious. Over the course of several phone calls, I have been provided with contradictory excuses, including that the company "cannot keep up with demand," that they are "dealing with many complaints," and conflicting claims regarding the shipping status of my card.
Specifically:
I was guaranteed receipt of the card by May 29, 2026; it never arrived.
When I called on June 1, 2026, the representative claimed the card was "in the mail and delayed," despite my ability to verify via postal tracking services that no such item is destined for my address.
My request to speak with a manager was explicitly denied by the representative.
When I requested the representative's name and identification number, she laughed and refused to provide them.
Upon informing the representative that the call was being recorded, she became visibly distressed and terminated the call abruptly.
Furthermore, I have grave concerns regarding the security of my personal information. This company has run my credit report three separate times, for which they have provided no valid justification.
Given the duration of this delay, the collection of multiple fees without service delivery, and the unprofessional conduct of their staff, I believe this company is engaging in fraudulent activity. I am requesting a full refund of all fees paid to date. Should this matter not be resolved immediately, I intend to file a formal police report regarding fraud, misrepresentation of a business, and the unauthorized use of my social security number.

Incompetence squared!
The U.S. Treasury Department should cancel ALL business agreements with Comerica Bank and its successor bank. As other commentators here will attest, it is probably the most incompetent banking operation in the world.

Do not use the Direct Express card
Do not use this card! I am retired and have no other means of income except social security. I have a lot of credit and all of it is bad. So, no credit cards. Unfortunately for me, I signed up for the Direct Express debit card as the means of accessing my social security. This year already, Direct Express has shut down my debit card twice for what they call suspicious use. The last "suspicious use" was an online payment for my Starlink service! The first suspicious use was while traveling in Mexico, probably at the Mexican border customs office. That card shutdown left me in Mexico with no money or access to my social security funds during the civil rioting right after the cartel boss was killed! Direct Express gives card users absolutely NO warning, no text, no email, and no phone call when they suspect a problem with your card. They just SHUT IT DOWN and send a new one to the address on file which for me, both times, did me no good because each time I have been 1,500 miles away from home travelling in Mexico, and now Canada. Direct Express is HORRIBLE! It is no wonder the Comerica Bank was bought out by Third Federal this year. As I write this I am without use of my Direct Express account, my checking account in a US bank account has gone into overdraft shutdown because I could not access my social security money. My monthly storage fee, car insurance, phone service, house insurance, pet medication for Pete the poodle, and ability to buy food are all in shutdown mode while I am stranded... once again... over a thousand miles from home! DO NOT USE DIRECT EXPRESS! I regret ever signing up for it and am looking forward to July, when my social security will finally be redirected to a regular checking account. That process alone is taking three long unbearable months to finalize.
