Roost & RootReviews of roostandroot.com

We are very happy with the coop and our experience putting it together. All of the hardware and parts were there, nothing was missing, and they are of high quality. The directions were easy to understand, and we had no problems. We ordered the optional waterer and feeder with the coop, and we are glad we did, as they make it easier for us and less wasteful for our girls, who used to scatter food. We love how our new coop looks as well!

Our chickens are enjoying their new coop. It’s built with quality materials and the assembly instructions were easy to follow. We’d definitely recommend Urban Coop Company to family & friends.

Love the quality of the coop. Nicely organized assembly system, but I would not try it alone. My growing flock seems to like it too.

I like their products. The coops are sturdy and last quite a while. I put a oil-based stain on the cedar and it looks great at the same time water-proofs the coop. I live in the area as the Urban Coop Company and have bought several items over the years. It is a great little company and great family running it. 2 suggestions: 1) lead times are a little long. Maybe address bottlenecks (It may also be that I always end up buying at peak season). 2) add a stain/coating for an up charge or as part of the design. It could easily be done prior to assembly.

Fantastic!!

The -only- issue I had with this purchase was the condition of the packing material when it arrived. The boxes were torn, and broken. Fortunately all of the hardware and the instructions were not lost, due to the way they were secured inside the packing. The coop arrived complete with the custom sign on the end. Assembly was easy, straight forward and well within the ability of a beginner. The tools needed are simple and claerly stated in the instructions.

I received my coop on time and as expected. Appears to be quality material. We put it together just recently and it took 2 people approx 2.5 hours. Nice that they send everything you need including hardware. I'm not sure if this will be totally safe from other animals and snakes that will want to get into the coop. There are some places with a large enough crack for a mouse or snake to get in! But I haven't gotten my flock set up yet so I suppose we will see! Overall, I think this is an excellent product if you are looking for a chicken coop.

The quality of materials is excellent. It took my daughter ( 43 years old ) and I many hours to put together. We aren’t experienced in putting things together. The ground our coop is on is pretty level, but not exactly. That made the final results not quite perfect. It is working out for our hens and rooster really good. I would recommend this company for your coop.
