Roost & RootReviews of roostandroot.com

This was the very first time I ever purchased anything from this Company. I really hadn't done that much research, but time was running out for me to buy Something for my 1 chicken and 1 duck to share, especially when the snowy months start and when it rains heavy lol. I purchased the 'Mobile Coop' so I'd be able to move it around my backyard. The coop itself is a great concept, No Doubt. I ordered it with a Feeder, Waterer, and Storm Weather Panels (for snow/wind/rain). I thought the Cut of the storm-weather panels could have been a bit more to size, as there are still bare areas of the overall "windows" of the coop that can't be covered by the panels because the panels are Too Short a bit in length. I also wish it was designed a bit more with being able to clean out the 1 nesting box area in mind lol, and the little perch area it has just right in front of the nesting box entrance where the chicken would enter from being inside. Other than these two things I mentioned, I Love my coop and know I bought from the right Company :)

ordered the walk in coop for 6 chickens. Well made and easy for two guys to put together.

Coops need a floor. Our coop was working great until after winter when it flooded with melting snow and heavy rains. We had to take it apart and move it to another location which was very difficult. A modified shed would’ve been a better use of 5k.

As described. Easy to put together. Waterer and feeder are convenient and accessible to me and chickens. Portable. Perfect size for four Rhode Islands Red hens.

I like Urban Coop, the people are nice and accommodating. But the products are not worth the price. Bought an expandable coop. They say they will last ten years but I don't see that. After one season the wood is warping, the wind screens, half of them are already broken and the doors have trouble opening and closing. The feeding and watering tubes don't work very well, there's better options out there. They're cute little coops but from what I know now, I would just building my own, it's not that hard to do.

The quality and fabrication of the materials is first rate. My concern is with the design. There is only one door, which makes it difficult to clean. I will probably make adoor on 5he otherend. I presume they intend for you to move the coop to clean it. I have mine attached to another enclosed area. My second design concern is the egg box is dificult to see into and to reach into, especially if you have nesting material in the box. The overall quality is excellent. The instructions are very good. I recommend their products.

We recently purchased the backyard coop with one extension run. The wood and hardware components are very good quality. Installation instructions were just fine. Not happy with two things: The ramp leading up into to coop is poorly designed. Whether open or closed it's right below the roost bars - lots of poop and impossible to clean. Our chickens are only about 3.5 months old- they cannot figure out the water dispensers/nipples at all - we've tried all kinds of tricks to help them. Also the feeder tubes don't work well...We fill them and an hour later the food is falling out all over the ground. Not sure why. We had to buy alternative water bucket and feed trays.

The coop looks nice and is easy to maintain. Negative is that is quite drafty and we had to add some protection to get our lovely hens through a winter night that was often below freezing.
