Roost & RootReviews of roostandroot.com

Great walk-in roost. My wife and I both love the look and quality and the chickens seem to like it a lot too.

Easy instructions and looks great!

This is my second coop purchase from this company. The materials are quality and sturdy. Good instructions (and quick, courteous customer service) make setup straightforward. The first coop (after five years!) still looks great with a nice aging patina on the wood...no structural issues whatsoever. (I never stained or painted the coop.) Still sturdy and attractive! A move to a new location was the reason for the second purchase, and it's the same quality and aesthetic as the first. Shipping was quick and secure. A problem with my order was promptly and thoroughly addressed. This is a reputable company whose product does not disappoint.

There was some confusion (on our part) regarding the specifics of what we ordered and Roost & Root went above and beyond. The product is great, easy to build, and the shipping was incredibly fast. We are very pleased.

I think the entire process was great. I spoke with Dyan when ordering my coop. She was very knowledgeable and made ordering very easy. My builder was very complimentary on how thorough the assembly directions were. The coop is very sturdy and made of great materials. There was one question during assembly and the team was available via text and addressed our issue.

The starter coop came neatly boxed with clear instructions to build. All parts were present with lots of extra screws. It was easy to assemble with pre drilled holes! Looks great with very sturdy predator proof construction. I feel safe in keeping my three baby Cochin chicks outside by themselves. I’ve built a chicken run for them because the coop is really small. They are only eight weeks old and I’m hoping they will be able to jump up to the perch as they grow. We will have to see how they take to the nipple waterer when they get tall enough to reach it. I love all the ways to open the coop, it’s a really nice functional design. The yard is small so this starter coop fits perfectly in our space. Thank you Roost & Root!!

I ordered the starter coop because I rescued a rooster in questionable health so I didn’t need much space. Everything came flat packed and the directions were good. Unfortunately, the order of piecing things together didn’t work out, leaving me with a lopsided coop. The panel on the bottom that can be removed - we now have to lift the entire coop up to remove it because it sits lower than everything else, so it presses into the ground. This is after using a level and meticulously following each direction, btw. So, not super convenient. My only other issue is that the door to the egg box came hinged on super loose and the latches meant to secure it barely do, so that needed correction to avoid predators getting in at night. The coop is beautiful otherwise and it has been great over the last month and a half.

these coops are awesome and its my second time buying one. I sold the first one we bought when we got a bigger flock and I have MAJOR regrets about that so we repurchased the same one. these coops are so well made with beautiful wood and really thoughtful design. they ship efficiently and have clear instructions and videos on how to assemble. great customer service from a family owned small business. cant recommend them more and their quality and design.
