I had an excellent experience with Roost & Root. They kept me informed prior to shipping my order, set expectations up front and delivered on time. My greenhouse was packed perfectly and the build directions were easy to follow. I can't wait to start growing things! Meanwhile, I highly recommend Roost & Root

Thank you for the review, Candace! We are glad to hear you and your birds have had a great experience with the coop! Enjoy!
I love my Roost & Root chicken coop and my girls love it too. I sealed the entire coop after it was built because we live in an arid climate and our winters can be very cold and snowy. It’s beautiful and is very roomy. My only complaint is the feeding system that we ordered with the coop. My girls quickly spread the crumble all over the ground rather than leaving it in the PVC pipe sent with the coop causing a lot of feed waste. I don’t use the feeding system anymore. I’ve only had this coop for a few months. Hopefully, I will still love it after winter!

Thank you for the review! We are glad that you're happy with your coop. Please give us a call on our support line (877-741-2667) and we might have some helpful advice about your feeder. Depending on the age of your birds and the type of food you're using, there may be some changes we can recommend. We have done endless prototyping on our feeder and tested a number of other very popular feeders in the marketplace. We recognize that feeder does spill, but we feel very good about our feeder compared to other options. Thank you for your business and enjoy your coop this winter!
Ordering was easy and coop came faster than expected. Had a slight issue with something and it was resolved very quickly no problem. I like that when I call, I get an actual person to help me. We’ve purchased 2 round top chicken coops now.

Thank you for the review and your continued business, Mary. I'm glad we were able to resolve your issue. We have a great group of people committed to customer service. Call us anytime! Enjoy your second coop!
Don't waste your money on this cheaply built coop. Only looks good in the picture, not in real life. Like many people mention it's not waterproof, winter panels are nothing but a joke. Pieces of wood are so thin , they get moldy after one rain. Also huge gaps and cracks in the wood. Feeder doesn't work as shown, food spills out all over the place, and the feeder tube gets flooded during rain, lots of food wastage..... What a nightmare experience trying to maintain the coop especially during winter, wet coop, wet chickens, lots of other issues... I did return my coop and got a refund, but shipping cost was not refunded as promised. After trying to reach out to customer service multiple times with no response from them I decided to leave a review so people don't make the same mistake we did buying their product.

Hopefully the 96% of our 596 reviews that have been either 4 or 5 stars are proof enough that your characterization of our product is (to put it as politely as I can) misleading. We simply would not have a business, let alone be successful in year 10, if what you claim is true. I'm not sure there was a thing we could have done for you to end up somewhere other than a review that was intended to do us harm. For years we bent over backwards to try to get to a point where you felt happy and served by our coop. Replacement parts were sent. Additional materials were sent. Repeated customer service calls and emails. It is one of the founding principles of our business. Unreasonably generous customer service. In sprite of how this played out between us, we will continue to behave this way. We believe it's the right thing to do when you enter into a partnership with a customer and we won't let this discourage us moving forward. Buyer's remorse is real. It is rare for us, but it does happen. There are times a product is not a good fit for a particular customer. While that can be disappointing, we try not to take it personally. However, the idea that our coop is cheaply made is not factual. We have committed and highly capable workers in our shop that pour themselves into building product for our customers. Every piece of wood in our coop is Western Red Cedar milled from the northwest of the United States. Western Red Cedar molding after a single rain is not honest. All of our wire is 16GA galvanized. All of our roof metal is American made 26GA 5V galvalume. American made twin wall corrugated plastic with custom added UV inhibitor for the storm panels. American made HDPE for the waterer and feeder brackets. Anyone that would attempt to source these materials on their own would quickly find your comment is misguided. We tried our best to make the relationship work and that was probably the biggest mistake we made through this entire process. After years of attempting to help we broke our own policy to refund the purchase of your coop completely, build a shipping crate for you to return your coop, pay to have the crate shipped to you, AND pay to have the coop returned to us. The only cost to you for nearly two years of having our coop was the original cost of shipping. That is the only part of our documented return policy that we did not break in an effort to accommodate you (which was explained via email). Certainly wish it had gone differently, but unfortunately I do not believe that was possible. If we can agree on anything it is that this finally coming to its inevitable end is a good thing. Hope you find what you are looking for in a coop. If it brings you any joy (it certainly did for us), we were able to find a local family to gift your returned coop to as a donation. We went to their property, assembled the coop, and it now houses their 10 birds. They now distribute fresh eggs to the neighborhood courtesy of their flock. If I could post a picture here I would.
I love not having to go into the coop for feeding, water, eggs, etc. It could use an small opening to put vegetable scraps in.

Thank you for the review and for the suggestion! Do you have any idea for a good placement of the opening? Send us am email at [email protected]! Enjoy the coop!
We and our four chickens love the high top coop. It is so much easier to use because I don’t have to stoop down to clean, refill food and water, or collect eggs. The sales and service staff have been excellent and the assembly instructions were easy to follow. The only negative in the assembly was that only about 1/3 of the wood parts were labeled, taking longer to do the inventory. We’re hoping the girls will get used to using the automatic waterer, and we’re assured by the staff that they eventually will. Thanks, Roost and Root, for a great product and service!

Thank you for the review, Kimberley. Glad to hear you've had such a great experience and that we were assist you through the buying process. Apologies for the parts that were not labeled. Would you be willing to send me a email with a few more details about which panels were missing identification and the confusion it caused? I want to make sure I pass along the info to the people in our shop. I can be reached at [email protected]! Thanks for your business and enjoy your coop!
