This is the best speech-to-text software I have ever used. I tried a bunch of other software but they didn't even come close. If you are looking for fast, accurate, and really inexpensive transcription, look no further. Sonix has it all. I also like the fact that you can edit the transcript right inside the software. The audio plays along as you read the transcript. So cool!

Pros: The time I save! While it's true that the accuracy of Sonix varies a lot, this largely depends on audio quality and speaker clarity, which is no different from working on a project without using Sonix. With Sonix's help however, difficult audio is much less difficult to work with. The truth is, if you are skilled at editing you will love using Sonix to complete your projects. It takes far less time and effort to correct something that is almost perfect than it does to create something new from scratch. I run a small transcription, captioning and editing service. Since discovering Sonix I have nearly cut my workload in half. I am able to serve more customers and take on more new business thanks to Sonix! Cons: I would love to have the option to purchase a client that I could download to my desktop, or the option to work with Sonix offline so that even without internet access I could work on my files. Overall: Working with Jamie and Taylor from Sonix has been wonderful. Customer Service is doing a really great job. I can't wait to see Sonix grow! I am thrilled to be along for the ride.

I'm very impressed with the accuracy. The transcript needs a little editing, but just minor correction. I think the interface is straightforward and user-friendly. I also like the audio-transcript matching playback functionality. I've been very deterred to use recording during my interviews because it takes a tremendous amount of time to transcribe.

Fast, simple and affordable. That's what Sonix claims to be. And that's exactly what they are. I was looking for software to transcribe some audio files. A friend made this suggestions, so I went to the website to check it out. The website has clear pricing information and Sonix offers 30 minutes of free transcribing. After uploading an eight minute audio file, I was sold. The user interface is so clean and friendly, it's a joy to use. Being able to edit the text real time when listening to the audio is nothing short of fantastic. And your files are stored online, so you will always have your archive available. Great thing is that I still had 22 minutes left to try, so your usage is measured by the minute. When you exceed the 30 minute length, you will need to take a subscription. This contists of a fixed fee and a fee per minute of audio. Both very affordable. I'm a simple home user and I think it's well worth the money. Of course, this product can't compete with human transcribing, but the price can't either. If you don't want to fork out the cash for human transcribing, but you do need an aid, this is definitely worth to take a look.
