The device is great and does everything it's supposed to. The big issue I have is that when I have talked over then last 2 years they keep telling me the app for the phone is almost ready. Now my emails inquiring about the app go unanswered. Very disappointing to have such a great product but not the connectivity everyone wants. There are a couplemdevices out there now that have the WIFI capability and will be switching my Flo Logic out with one of them

I've never had a plumbing issue in my house, so I don't know if it works or not. I've run tests and it did what it was supposed to do, so I guess that's a good sign. I installed version 1 when I built my house in 2001. A few years later, it just died. I replaced it with version 3. It wouldn't work. Customer service was able to help me find a loose wire while I was under the house on the phone with them! I re-attached the wire and everything booted up as it should. in 2012, we had an ice storm that knocked out my power for about a week. When the power came back on, I checked the system and found the battery was dead. I replaced it with a battery from FloLogic. A year later, that battery was dead. I replaced it with a battery from another source, A year later, that battery was dead, as well. A dead battery wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that when the battery dies, the system won't work at all. I contacted customer service and was told that the battery is actually the primary source of power and that the AC hook-up just provides a trickle charge to keep it charged up. Funny thing is, the included paper work and the website both refer to the battery as a "system battery for back-up power in the event of loss of A/C." So which is it? All I know is, right now there's a dead white box on my wall that will stay that way until FloLogic comes up with something better because I can't keep throwing money away on $35.00 batteries.

Thanks for your feedback. System batteries typically last for 3 or more years, so we suspect you may have an issue with the power supply or outlet feeding your system. Please give us a call and we can help you trouble shoot 877-356-5644. The battery can power the FloLogic system and automatically stop leaks for up to a week of a power loss. It is also a critical element of normal operation for the model you own, where the amp power from the battery is required to turn the valve. The 120-volt AC power supply maintains the charge of the battery for normal operation.

FloLogic is a good system but lacks a wireless interface to notify you of a leak and the ability to shut down the system if you forget to hit the away mode.

Hello! Thanks for your review. The FloLogic system is an auto shutoff device, so unlike other leak detectors that just sound a local or wireless alarm and don't automatically stop the leak, FloLogic sounds a local alarm and shuts off the water so you don't have to. It will catch leaks in the Home and Away modes 24/7. The current system can be connected to a home security system for remote notifications. But very soon we will have a WiFi connection that will the interface your System with a free iOS or Android app for full control and notifications from your smart phone. We've had a Flologic valve for over 5 years. We had some early problems, but their tech support was excellent. We have also had some problems with water accumulating in the housing - just enough to kill the circuit board. Again, tech support helped out and sent a replacement board. I have resorted to mounting the board outside the housing and have had no problems since. For us it provides an easy way to shut off water when working on plumbing and gives us some peace of mind while we're vacationing. I would like to see some remote control/phone app soon.

There are a couple of solutions for adapting the FloLogic setting so that RO systems, which cause long periods of continous flow) don't trick it into thinking there's a leak: through settings adjustments and/or installation of a flow switch. For quality of product and service I would give FloLogic 10 stars. However, for protecting my home I would give FloLogic 3 stars. My home is not protected while running the Irrigation system or when the water softener regenerates. Each of these systems have external sensors. When the external sensor detects water flow the FloLogic timer is disabled. This allows each of these systems to run without interruption but a water leak would not be detected when irrigating or when the water softener is regenerating (because the FloLogic timer is disabled). Secondly, we have an in-furnance humidifier. Its drip rate, while the furnace is running, is 12-13 oz/min (which is high). The humidifier can run in excess of one + hours. The drip rate setting, on the FloLogic control panel, has to be adjusted to compensate for the humidifier drip rate. During the winter months, the drip rate is set to around 13 oz/min (which is high) which, per FloLogic, is considered a seasonal adjustment. So, what this means, is during the winter months, a leak with a drip rate below 13 oz/min would go undetected. This is unacceptable! To be fair, the drip rate could be lowered to an acceptable rate (well below 12 oz/min) and in combination the "interval timer" (how long detected water flow is allowed to run) can be increased to somewhere above one hour. This is a better solution which I will try but even at this setting a leak would flow for however long the interval timer is set (in this example for over an hour). That too is unacceptable. Thirdly, the system is "dumb" meaning it cannot communicate with an electronic device (such as a phone). It would be a great feature if the FloLogic unit could be operated remotely or if the system could alert the home owner of a leak in progress / a flow rate which exceeds a particular "set rate".
