This is a difficult company. They are a PBM pharmacy benefit manager. This means that they want to change many patients to another drug class of medications that is cheaper they are not solely a mail order pharmacy. For some employers they will get high service and you might never have to deal with this. For others you may have this happen time and time again that they will change medication. A non informed person may talk to you about medications and ask you to switch to something cheaper. Sometimes you can go to a brick a mortar pharmacy for the same price at 90 days. If your employer cannot switch them out there are some ways to cope. There is a department where angry customers can be sent. They can make the magic to fix it. Another strategy is to order each medication separately because if they wish to change one med to something else and it will hold up the entire order. Also larger packages are sometimes shipped away and sent back from a larger distance. Order 1 med per time and inform your doctors that you only wish to change when speaking with your doctor. Unfortunately PBMs and mail orders do not work well for myself or my family my mother had a very hard time with ESI. If you want to be on the better side of things being a stock holder is better than using the service depending on how the market is going. Really important to only request one medication at a time. Try not to use a PBM because it is not just mail order. People are saying things that are true unfortunately express scripts and bcbs are the same they are corporations and they are not based on what is good for patients when the whole formulary system started great doctors were asked to join and they left. If you want non corporate health care need to go to a different country. Try to find a different option and avoid a pbm.

Customer Service NOT. Absolutely every CSR is just giving out information they THINK is right. Trust me --- THEY ARE ALWAYS WRONG. You have to wait on hold for a supervisor who will explain things, but the problem with the people who answer the phone remains. They don't train anyone to fix the problems. Just use someone else.

Blue Cross Blue Shield should be embarrassed to have Express Scripts manage their drug prescription program for them, you can never get a new prescription without it having to get a pre authorization no matter what kind of drug it is. I was given a prescription for fish oil and my Dr said we'll see if we can get it and laughed knowing what was going to happen. Complained to Express Scripts about always needing a pre authorization and why they are second guessing a doctor and was told they have a group of Drs that determine which drugs are needed and why and are not second guessing Drs.sure sounds like they are me. Blue Cross Blue Shield should take a look at how this company is miss managing and treating their members and get rid of them. Never been so hard in my life to get the drugs I need for my health. Express Scripts stop holding my medication hostage!!!

Express Scripts is the worst insurance company and mail order drug I have ever dealt with. They need authorizations for everything. Even for long term maintenance drugs they require constant reauthorizations and each time they have more requirements. Each time another specialist is needed. Finally when you do jump through all of their ridiculous hurdles it may still take weeks to get the medication. They use the slowest means possible and half the time the drugs never show up. Absolutely horrible!!!!

There is nothing express about Express Scripts. They give themselves a very broad delivery range, and then miss it by a week. It is always "in process" or "in the mail". So the question becomes, "How can Publix get a script in the morning and have it out the same day?" Non Express Scripts either fills prematurely, or not at all, for maintenance drugs.

This is a scam! Be aware of express script scam!

The worst customer service ever! Spoke to a completely rude representative who would not tell me when my prescription would need to be renewed. Kept saying the renewal would be 3 months after an Aug date and then another 3 months after that. Then told me she didn't know why I wasn't getting it- Why hire people like this? - I spoke to a the manager who didn't seem to care in the least.
