Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Called them to expedite the shipment of a medication and offered zero help. They couldn't even explain why it takes them 6 days to ship a medication.

They don't even deserve a one, but that's as low as this site goes. They continually over ride my doctors prescriptions asking for pre-authorization on almost all of my prescriptions and when my doctors take the time to fill out their forms, they reject them anyway. Customer service is a total joke. They keep me on hold for over 45 minutes just to tell me that I can always pay for the prescription myself since they won't pay for it. When Sempra Energy first changed over from Optum Pharmacy to Express Scripts. I was told it would be a seamless transition and I didn't have to do anything. It has been anything but that. They didn't have any of my medications on file and refused to call Optum to get them even though I was out of my heart meds for A-fib. I had to call Optum and request that they forward my list of meds to them. Express Scripts told me they would put a rush on my hear meds but still took 15 days to get them to me. In the meantime, I had my doctor phone my prescription for hear meds to a local pharmacy so I could get the meds immediately and not go into A-Fib. Every time I have spoke to Express Scripts about not getting my meds in a timely matter, they ask me if I would like to talk to one of their pharmacist to find out what the consequences are of not having my medicine. The most recent experience was on a Friday night at 5PM, I had just come from my doctors office, my leg was in so much pain that my son had to take me around in a wheel chair because I could not walk. When I got to Fred Meyers they told me that Express Scripts refused to pay for the medicine and that they needed my doctor to fill out prior authorization. It's the week end and my doctor has already left for the day and I can not get the meds unless I pay for them myself. To this day, my doctors have sent in numerous pre-authorization forms and all of them have been denied. A patient should not have to spend this much time fighting with a pharmacy that is over-riding my doctors prescriptions and not allowing me to get the medicine that I need. Since when should a pharmacist have power over what your doctor says you require? They have a rating of 1.2 out of 10 on the internet, and currently have at least 1 class action lawsuit against them.

They are dazed and confused . Calling them it takes saying customer service to the Bot at least 4 times . Only thing the Bot says is it is being processed . They substitute a different med but do not inform you of the change. Asked how long it was going to take to recieve my med and then said I would have it on the 7th day from order date . I then had to tell them that it was the seventh day today it had not shipped yet . Response was oh when its substituted with a different med it takes longer . This will be my last prescription with them.

This is the second time that I have had this problem. My medications were ordered and did not arrive. No real tracking info available. Call the company and get the usual runaround and told to wait. So I should run out of my medications and just wait? The lack of communication is amazing. I am a physician, retired, and can write myself a script in a pinch but this type of thing is absolutely unacceptable and difficult for people who are not medically trained. I abhor this company and will look to do something different next enrollment. DO NOT USE EXPRESS SCRIPTS!!!!!!!!!!~

There should be a zero stars option for companies like express scripts. I'm currently on hold with USPS because ExpressScripts delayed my medication initially and now it has been lost in the mail for two whole weeks. This is a life saving medication. I had to pay full price out of pocket for an emergency fill at an ACTUAL PHARMAXY. During my several hours on the phone with them over three separate calls, the ExpressScripts customer service "patient advocate" literally refused to do anything . I asked her how she was advocating for me in this situation and she transferred me to USPS while refusing to do anything at all to help or intervene. I will be transferring all of my prescriptions to a brick and mortar pharmacy and never using ExpressScripts again. I am also a negotiator for my union at an extremely large prominent employer and I will be advocating for the employer to stop contracting with Express Scripts. Save yourself the trouble, it's worth any extra money to go to CVS.

This is an unethical company. They put their customer's health at risk with delay after delay. Untruths are issued continually. They state that the doctors haven't responded to request for information. Both my wife's physician and mine have NO record of ever being contacted. My refills of heart meds was declined after my bypass surgery. The so called expedited prescriptions would have been faster using standard mail. My wife has spent hours on the phone working on declined refills. The latest, after finally getting approval, the next day gets a message that it was declined and has to start the process all over. All of my auto refills on diabetic supplies was also canceled. Of course each time I have to order the prescription manually it is denied again. Stay away from this company, very far away. Your health will be better for it. A NEGATIVE 5 STARS IS TOO HIGH OF A RATING.

I honestly regret being forced to use Express Scripts. What should be a simple prescription refill turns into a drawn-out process every single time. Orders sit “processing” for days with no clear updates, and when you try to get answers, you’re stuck navigating automated menus that rarely lead to an actual solution. Even when you finally reach someone, the information is inconsistent and nothing gets resolved. I’ve had prescriptions delayed for no clear reason, and the lack of communication between them and doctors makes things even worse. This service feels completely disorganized and unreliable, especially when dealing with something as important as medication. Definitely not something you can depend on.
