I don't like how it looks. It has the typical modernish look with too much white space. On top of that there's this 1970s font. There's a Community section that I never ever look at. The main reason to look at Bamboo on most days is to see who is on leave, and that is not easy. The leave calendar is really bad.

It started so well, their sales team were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. Move over to the implementation team and the customer service fell off a cliff... No flexibility, the timeline offered started before they were available; most questions we had took several attempts to glean an answer. Come out of implementation and there is literally no-one to support us. The process to obtain answers to general queries is so elongated and complicated. It also wasn't highlighted at any stage that support post implementation is chargeable. The general operations of the system has worked well for us, as we learn more about it, we are getting better and using the facilities it offers. But most of the learning has been self taught. When we signed up, we were reliably informed that their annual leave element was being set up to automatically update Outlook by Q1 2025 - still waiting and now in Q4!

There are some limitations. Overall, BambooHR is a great system, but there are some nuisances that are lacking such as not allowing HR admins to change the date to release a performance review or being able to send a document back and forth for signature to a person who has not started yet (sending BAA agreements). Another limitation is the pay and setting up who works how many hours on a given day since not every person works the same amount of hours (I.E. working 10 hours in 1 day) which always requires manual manipulation during holidays. It's a great system for regular day to day HR work, but not in a clinical field when clinicians work 10 hour days for 4 days or sometimes 6 hours 1 day and 12 hours another day

Overall Bamboo has great features, but struggles to support the number of staff we have. Within the past 6m I have struggled with email labels, saving templates and using automatic features to help screen candidates.

Recent changes to the platform took away a key function that counted fields as a dashboard. We complained and were told it was the IT department that made the decision without for warning vendors making the platform less user friendly. Bamboo Hr does not seem to care about vendor needs, only filling their pockets.

We like how user-friendly the platform is and it offers many value-added services we did not previously have (performance management, employee engagement, etc.). We struggle to get personalized customer support in a timely manner and are frequently disappointed with the lack of ability to customize to meet the needs of our growing business. The ATS functionality is especially challenging with promises of upgrades that do not happen.

The software itself is good, can do most things and is pretty intuitive. However, 2 main issues: 1. We're based in the UK, were told that they can update everything to make it relevant for the UK and this isn't the case. This means things like gender/ ethnicity reporting etc. is useless as they will only accept US government definitions rather than those used in the UK (e.g. 'African American', 'Hispanic' etc.) along with various other bits and bobs which are irritating. 2. The sales team are great and give the impression that this is how all contact with the company will be. We were sold the induction package which was a waste of money, then any requests for support are pretty poorly handled. We've looked at competing products and decided not worth leaving, but it is irritating that we were oversold on what they can actually deliver.

My company uses this soft for HR purposes (for all enployees). It's doing the job but the UI is very simplistic, it looks like a blog from early 2000'. Some HR features are missing so we have to use another soft to compensate for it, and now we pay twice the amount we used to pay when we were using one of their competitor. Nonsense.
