Founded by actress and animal activist Katherine Heigl, we create products made with some of the healthiest foods on Earth — like premium, hearty beef from suppliers who care about the humane treatment of animals, as well as hand-selected superfoods for canine health. We also make it a priority to employ safe, responsible cooking practices by slow-cooking and air-drying our dog food to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional content. It’s all the good stuff your dog needs to thrive, with none of the bad. Named for her ranch in Utah where the Heigl Family rescues animals, Badlands Ranch stands for treating every dog with love and respect. That’s why it is a proud sponsor of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation and its rescue efforts, medical care, obedience training, and placement of dogs in happy, loving homes. With every purchase of a Badlands Ranch product, you’re not just helping your dog achieve a healthier life… you’re helping another dog in need find a forever home.

This is a very high quality dog food that my Bull Terriers devour. While it is cost prohibitive to provide as their only food, as a topper to their wet and dry mixture, it has worked out well enough to be on the subscription plan.

My little yorkie is extremely picky and has terrible allergies. I started out as a topper because if the price but she absolutely loves it. So now this is what she eats.

My very picky eater, did not think twice , she loved it as a topper and I will monitor how she does for the next month! I am a firm believer that chain store dog food……well would you eat it! Between this product mixed with farmers dog food , hoping this keeps her around far longer than that chain dog food

I have a 2 year old boxer and a 9 year old Pitty mix. My Pitty is a horrible paw licker and my boxer has a ton of allergies, always scratching and licking. I use Badlands as a topper, approximately a quarter of their meals. Twice a day. My Pitty has always been a very fussy eater but now all I have to say is Badlands! and she comes running and dancing for her food. In all her 9 years she’s never done that. My Boxer will eat anything so I’m just happy she’s getting wonderful benefits from this food. Their regular food is not cheep! Now Badlands is really pushing our budget. But no more paw licking or fussy food eating, and allergies have improved immensely! My dogs are family, I will feed them the best and I think Badlands is the best.

My picky Lhasa Apso loved the smell and taste of this dog food, which was a hopeful miracle. After giving her ten "nuggets" with three different meals over three days (30 total) she had several horrible black, slimy bowel movements which made a horrible mess at night in our dining room. Needless to say I returned the food with no problem. Comments regarding the food itself: 1) It's quite expensive. 2) The pieces are quite jagged and sharp. 3) It's harder than other food on the market 4) It is difficult for small-muzzled dogs to chew
