Bought my Hydra9 when on pre-order and have loved it, for the most part. As a newbie yo the market, the machine has been pretty straight forward and reliable, only user errors on my part. Support has been helpful in overcoming some of the "user errors" also. Been a reliable machine that is more than capable of handling anything that I throw at it. Would highly recommend 1Laser for a first or 10th laser.

I own an XRF laser and run an electronics manufacturing company. I've encountered a few issues with the XRF product and its documentation. The working area measures 600 x 300 mm (23.6" x 11.8"), which works fine if you live in China but leaves a lot to be desired in the USA, where 12" is the standard dimension for acrylic material. If you load a 12" x 12" sheet and align it with the upper left of the work area, the rest of your material will be out of focus because it will ride up on the sheet metal flange that runs around the work area. This could easily be fixed by OneLaser by widening the flange opening to 12", but apparently this was overlooked during product development. The work area is removable, and my laser arrived with it not properly seated due to a clearance issue between some alignment pegs. As a result, I wasted a lot of material trying to figure out why my focus was fine in the upper left but way off on the rest of the sheet. Just by chance, I put some weight on the work area, which overcame the friction interference, and it popped down into place. DOH! X-Axis Buffer Error: There is no troubleshooting section in the XRF manual or on the OneLaser website. Searching for terms like "ERROR," "X-Axis Buffer," "trouble," or "Troubleshooting" yields nothing related to understanding the errors that can appear on the operator display or how to fix them. I started using the laser on a Saturday and wasted the whole weekend trying to overcome X-axis buffer errors. The solution was to forget OneLaser and use Grok to solve the problem. Grok explained the limitations of the laser controller and advised me to slow down the laser speed or create a bunch of wasted material buffer around what I was trying to engrave. I'm happy to be engraving again, but wasting material was not the kind of solution I was looking for.

The machine is absolutely amazing, I feel like it is very practical for laser engraving and cutting. It would be nice to have a few more how-to tutorials, with Lightburn and the Hydra 9. There is little information out on how the two co-exist, and it would be very helpful to have more information for future endeavors.

During my 1 on 1 with OneLaser's Sean, I was able to ask technical questions and receive detailed and fast responses that accurately helped me diagnose and setup components on my laser. Sean didn't hesitate with any question and was an extremely enjoyable communicator. We were able to go over other setups with software to get maximum potential from the laser and my setup and I look forward to running my next job on it.

Machine doesn't engrave the advertised bed size, it will only cut it 12x24". On a 24" bed you can only engrave around 19 inches before getting buffer errors. Camera cuts out and you have to restart Lightburn all the time. Print and cut is terrible. It can't accurately print and cut at all. You have to reauto-focus EVERY TIME you run the laser. They release a firmware update to fix this and you can't even update it following their instructions. Autofocus limit switch is broken now. They sent the machines out programmed at 1g acceleration instead of 3g so the machine ran so slow for 8 months until someone noticed and fixed it. Been waiting on parts for a month now and nothing has been shipped. The sale guy Sakura is so painful to deal with. Just all around a disappointing company. The only bright side is the laser does engrave well and has been putting in work for many months now.

Everyone that I have talked with has been very helpful and knowledgeable. The machine is well built and has the capability of opening up other material resources to use. I am excited for One Laser and what the future holds for them.
