Ulta BeautyReviews of ulta.com

Not sure why Ulta has so many bad reviews but I can only speak on my experience with them. They have amazing deals and I love the points that you can earn. Customer service has always been amazing. The stores are always clean and the employees are right there to help when you need them

I want to start by stating I am educated on hair chemistry and understand how hair processes color. Now, I got my hair done and I have never been more disappointed or embarrassed of a salon service as much as this one. The appointment was for a simple full highlight. I had 100% virgin hair and had not gotten my hair professionally done in 8 years. I wanted to do something nice for myself, to make myself feel good. However I’m so unhappy with the results I will likely never get my hair done again. The appointment was for a full highlight, I was not expecting to be charged for 2 full highlights and a partial highlight all in one appointment. She added on olaplex to preserve the integrity of my hair- laughable because I can’t even get a brush through my hair now. The appointment took 7 hours. Yes 7 hours. She left the bleach to process while she took continuous breaks and did not bother to check on me if I needed anything like water or a snack. At one point the bleach was literally burning my scalp and it hurt so badly. I was so nauseous by the end of the appointment I was ready to pass out. She left toner on my hair while she took another appointment completely and she practically ruined my hair by over processing it. She did not even talk to me the entire appointment, no customer rapport was built and when she did talk it was only about herself. Completely unprofessional. The final result was maybe one or two levels lighter than I originally went in with. Yet I had a $350 bill. She ripped me off and overcharged me for so many different services.

My review is not against the stylist in any way because she was amazing and did exactly what I had pictured in my head. I felt like an absolute Rockstar when she was finished. No, my review is against the cheap crappy product they use in their salon! I have been dying my hair over 25 years with every brand possible, and my hair holds color like you wouldn't believe! Yet, I pay $500 (waaaaay more after tip cuz stylist was a pure goddess) to get a beautiful rainbow job on bleach blonde hair, I take care of it meticulously in the shower with all the ways I know to keep a color, and yet under 2 weeks it's gone! All of the color has leaked out, and all I'm left with is a head full of blonde hair. This is crap! I have never been so disappointed in a salon than with this one that pretends to be a salon!!!. Their color is pathetic and obviously cheap. I was very upset and, of course, no refunds. Don't waste your money or at least bring your own product that would be much better quality than obviously what they use. UNDER TWO WEEKS!?!

HORRIBLE app,, customer service and online ordering. I’ve been shopping at Ulta for years and spend a significant amount of money each month. Back in December my app was hacked and someone was able to order several hundred dollars worth of merchandise and then change the pickup person name to their name. It took Ulta several MONTHS of investigation to resolve this issue. Then today I thought I would try online ordering again (I haven’t since December) so that I could take advantage of an online order coupon. The store said my items were in stock for pickup but when I submitted my order it said it couldn’t process the order because the items were not all available. I resubmitted the order 5 more times at different locations only to get the same response each time. Little did I know that each time I submitted the order, my bank account was being charged. Fraud prevention was then alerted ant my bank (thankfully) and they contacted me but they also froze my account. I contacted Ulta who did not only NOT apologize for my inconvenience, they also did not even offer to help me with placing my order. I am DONE shopping at Ulta. I’m sure Sephora has much better customer service.

I contacted ULTA about a delivery address update, I had one guest service person hang up on me, another made zero effort to help and told me no manager was available and then when the manager emailed me, they didn't respond. I paid more money to UPS.

I recently placed an online pick up order in which the item I ordered ended up being out of stock. They proceeded to charge my bank account the full amount of the order even though they didn’t have the product I ordered. When I called to resolve this, they said I’d get the refund within 3-5 business days. It just seems kinda messed up that they would charge me before even confirming if they had the item in stock or not. They were quick to take my money but in no rush at all to reimburse me for an order that wasn’t even fulfilled. I’ve never had this issue with placing online orders at any other business. Ulta needs to revise their system!

I have never had an occasion to visit this store but today I did and the store associate made my experience worth while. Her name is Ms. Theresa. She is a "Scent Guru". She taught me some things about laying different scents. She is very knowledgeable about her role in the store. I'm looking forward to returning to purchase my perfumes. I just wanted to say thank you for your patience and your help.

Every time I order shampoo or conditioner to be shipped I end up receiving a box with half of my bottle of product in the bottom of the box! Even Walmart tapes the bottles so they don’t come open
