Longtime guide here, I miss the old Simms. Not sure what has happened however the last 2 years our community has seen a major quality concern and a communication concern with their waders, our Outfitter has turned to another company

I have a pair of G4 Pro wading boots from 2022. This design has threaded inserts for studs or cleats. Apparently, this design has now been abandoned and no studs are available. They are selling out of cleats and won't support them any more once they are gone. This after the boots are just over 2 years old. Great service, Simms (sarcasm). My former loyalty has vanished. Grundens or Patagonia from now on.

I have trusted Simms Fishing Products in the past but lately I have had some defective products. A boat bag fell apart on me after using it only three times. The same has happened with a waterproof knapsack. The handle came off after very little use. I realize that these things do happen and maybe it is just a fluke but the real reason I give Simms only two stars is their very poor customer service. I called and tried to leave a voice message but each time the call goes dead without my being able to leave any message. I did receive what I considered to be an automated message telling me to ship the item to them for further evaluation. I may be able to do the repair myself without having to pay shipping. I just need to talk to somebody! Very frustrating!

I bought a $200 rain jacket for fishing and wore it 8 - 10 days before the zipper broke. I sent it in for repair figuring it was no big deal it was a new jacket. I was told they won’t fix it because, “ After a thorough evaluation, we have determined that your product failed for reasons other than defects in workmanship or materials.” It was 8 days old and they said, “ We are unable complete a repair that meets our performance standards and the product appears to have reached the end of its serviceable life.” I guess the life of their products is 8-10 days. I will not be buying Simms products ever again.
