Revel Systems has been a very user friendly POS system to setup and use for our retail store. Good inventory control system with all the control features in one package - purchase orders, matrix inventory, employee timesheets, customer sales reports, and product and vendor sales reports.

Revel has changed our inventory and really is a great system. Still have the little hiccups now and then. When it's a quick fix it's a great quick fix... some growing pains still and when it's a bad fix... it has taken days at some point. The staff in technical support are outstanding.

Sometimes it can take a bit of time to replicate an issue on our end in order to understand what might be causing the problem and then implement a fix. Poor after the sales, weak support staff. Over priced.

I'm giving REVEL one star NOT because of REVEL's POS but because I want to warn anyone buying this system to NOT Finance their system with "Time Payment" of Burlington who they do their financing with. The agreements they use allow them to make up terms after your first couple payments. I started getting new amounts billed to my credit card. I contacted "Time Payment" to ask what they were and the agent kept saying "Taxes" read your contract as if I were ignorant to the fact. I simply replied yes I understand taxes are 7% and on a payment of $253.10 that should be $270.82... Why are you billing me $301.02 I inquired.. They said well those are "Property taxes" and I requested a breakdown of what they are charging me for the taxes on a simple invoice which they have refused to provide. BE WARNED - this finance company is "Shady" and conducts themselves in a negative manner because they realize most restaurant owners are not very sophisticated or have the time to do the research of taxes and will just go away. They have the wrong person this time.

I've been in the computing business since 1982 and I have seen and used dozens of POS systems. Also, have used and implemented some of the other iPad solutions available and Revel soars above the rest. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. The difference is that support is available 24/7 and they followup on any issues. Also, they listen to suggestions to improve the product. My only complaint is some back end issues that are being addressed but still they are far ahead of the competition. In summary, I would highly recommend. But you must communicate and not become frustrated. The support team is there to help.

I have enjoyed using Revel. It tracks so many things andnos very detailed. Once I got the hang of how it works it has become much easier to use. Customer service is great. I don't have to call to get help. I can email my question or concern and I have an answer within 12 .... even less. I only wish there was a intro video of some sort that did a quick overview again after you set the program up to go through some basics on the back console and the iPad. Then that the tutorial videos were easier to find. One more thing i would like to see is that you could invoice a customer from the back console or iPad, specifically a house account customer, with the functionality of being able to pay on that invoice and that it would update their house account. Right now I invoice thru QuickBooks and then have to go into the store to manually update the house accounts.

Overall good product and decent support but needs to move on additional features such as customizable reporting page layouts, Facebook online ordering optimization, and waitlist paging service.
