RCI has gone steadily down hill over the years as the same time as the price has continually gone up year on year. With the advent of sites like Booking.com RCI is pretty much redundant now especially as the availability has gone down year on year. When you add together the yearly fees and the exchange fees its almost the same price as you can find an apartment online but without having to deposit your weeks so I would advise ditching your timeshare and RCI and just go online as there is much more choice at a much lower price.

Tried for two month by writing and phone calls to have my booking changed but never received an answer. Then I used the formal costumer contact form for complains on RCI's web-site. After filling out the form I pressed send - the reply I got was a technical error message! Avoid RCI and accordingly avoid to buy any timeshare if you rely on a world-wide exchange.

Jeg købte min timeshare af en meget dygtig sælger på Costa del sol. Jeg havde forhandlet selve købet samt en uge på hotellet med 3 lejligheder gratis. Da jeg kommer til bestilling er der kun tale om 1 uge, hvilket jeg blev temmelig vred over....Men det gik over som ting jo gør med tiden:-) Nu har jeg ejet min RCI points i 5 år, og det fungerer fint. Jeg betaler årligt gebyr på ca 5000 DKK og bestiller en rejse eller 2. Prisen er vel egentlig ok, men jeg synes det er et problem at finde fly til destinationerne til en ordentlig pris og i perioden. Dette gør at produktet ikke er så attraktivt for mig. Hvis man har adgang til billige fly, eller arbejder et sådant sted er det en god deal som man kan få meget glæde af. Jeg har hørt at mange amerikanere og englændere er glade for RCI - men jeg tror ikke det er noget der gør det hverken nemmere, bedre eller billigere for os danskere at holde ferie.

It starts out looking good. You like the idea of travelling to different places. Then reality kicks in. Truth is, RCI has destroyed the timeshare industry by trampling all over the owners from prior years. Back then we bought a piece of a physical unit. Now they will gladly sell you just the time. It has completely devalued the cost of what we purchased years ago. Who pays the maintenance fees? The original owners. Who gets to use them? The new time owners. RCI is all about greed and corruption. One of the most despicable companies in America.

In 2015 was the second time we have used our week with Regency Resort and after arriving to our resort we were left sitting outside with a small child for several hours with a information we have deposited our week - WHICH WE HAVE NOT DONE - so we don't own that week anymore and somebody else is in our apartment instead of us. I was advised to speak over the phone with RCI customer service who didn't provide information who actually deposited the week and basically turned back to us that we did and it is our problem. NONE of us deposited that week as it is only one week in the whole year we can actually take some time off form our busy lifestyle. In the situation we were left in Tenreife we were forced to to buy an accommodation for 3 of us as the return tickets were already purchased in 7 days time. The next day i have called RCI again with request of IP address from where the week was deposited as i don't believe the information they have provided were sufficient enough. They have failed to provide me with IP and advised they don;t understand this terminology and will forward my request to different department. I have not heard form them since. As RCI provides statement of my weeks every month with actual information of weeks which i am able to deposit and which are deposited i decided to take more care with the information and was checking everything. In December 2015 (after going over the RCI statements) we have decided to confirm our holiday and the week which was clearly stated on our statement back to our Resort (statement attached to show the weeks). The Resort first confirmed they are really busy and redirected us to members department where lady confirmed she also understand the week as available to travel and use that week as it is not deposited but after several days the reception form exact same resort refused our stay. After we have bought fly tickets (as we were informed to confirm our fly details) and to redirect our inquiry back to RCI as it is theirs responsibility this week is showing on our statement. Just to point out prior to all this conversation with Regency resort i did confirm this actual week with RCI web team - who also confirmed we are entitled to this week and we can use it- all information i have in writting and took screenshots to prove everything. I have contacted RCI customer support by email, where after few days received email saying that the actual week 11/02/2016 showing on the statement is showing to prevent different date to be booked???? Their exact words are "our systems show a completely false date (in February) for Even years to prevent the week ever being deposited in Even years." Please if anybody from RCI members have such a statement where they can see false date preventing some other date to be booked could you please share this information here? Its a shame i can't attached the screenshot of the statement so people can see. I believe RCI system has faults and members are often loosing money because of this but they will never admit any fault and just stop answering customer emails. I have also few times tried to submit feedback back to RCI on my experiences and every time i was redirected to page saying i have already submitted it! That's how they valuable customer feedback!!!

Jeg har i April 14 deponeret min uge for juni15 hos RCI. Alt er i orden, fik jeg at vide. 4 uger før min ugestart på min timeshare får jeg en velkomstmail fra resortet, og reagerer prompte ved at ringe til RCI. 'Nej, ugen er ikke deponeret, der var nogle problemer med det'. Har man givet kunden besked?? Næhh. Jeg tror, alt er på plads , men nu 4 uger før får jeg nærmest ingen bytteværdi og har heller ikke mulighed for at leje ud privat. 4500 kr i maintenance fee spildt, 800 kr i RCI medlemsskab spildt, og man møder kun ligegyldighed. 'Ja, vi kan godt se, at du har deponeret den, men der gik altså et eller andet galt'. Det er så kundens problem, RCI couldn't care less. Det er ikke første gang. Er flere gange ankommet til booket hotel, hvor lejligheden alligevel ikke var der, så jeg måtte huses alternativt. I Kenya måtte jeg checke ud af hotellet efter en uge, fordi RCI havde glemt at booke den anden uge. Først to dage og adskillige telefonopringninger (på min regning) senere faldt det på plads. Sikke en rodebutik! 'Svingdørs' personale politik gør, at ingen tager ansvar. Hver gang taler man med en ny, så ingen føler ansvarlighed og ingen aner hvad de andre har lavet. Rejs spændende ned RCI - lidt for spændende :-( For nogle år siden, var det et velfungerende firma - nu- hold jer væk!

Køb ALDRIG derfra, det er svindel! Don't buy anything EVER from them. It's a scam!!
