As my family has a history of heart disease, my doctor has been monitoring my health for the past 10 years. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues, but the peace of mind is great. After taking an early retirement, I lost my employer health benefits and I have elected to go with a high deductible plan. The unfortunate side of that is an annual out of pocket pay of $8,000 a year, then it'll cover 80%. Long story short, the tests that my Doctor lined up would have cost me a little over $10,000 if I went to the labs he directed. Anyway, I set up the testing with MDsave labs and the costs were around $1,200 (savings of $8,800). Sounds a little unbelievable, but true! Mike

MDsave is awesome. I was able to pay for my procedure, show my voucher when checking in, and get taken care of with no effort. The best part for me is knowing I’ve paid all I will have to pay and not wonder if I’ll be getting additional bills.

Last year my husband had lots of medical tests and doctor appointments conducted and we trusted our healthcare provider to tell us where to have it done. When we later found out the price of the tests, because they don't give you a price, we were floored!!! With our high deductible, we ate it! This year was my turn to have some tests done due to my high cholesterol. This year I decided to price it out. Getting pricing from my provider's network took lots of patients before I got a call back, and the price was crazy high. I decided to price it out and went on MDsave.com to find pricing for the procedures. The MDsave price was 20% of the price from my provider ($5000 less) for two procedures! I called the MD Save provider to confirm it was legit, and they confirmed it. The facility I received the tests from was a well known facility in Illinois. Their techs and office staff were wonderful. My provider received all test results within days. I will never have another medical procedure done without first consulting MDsave.com. Imagine what could happen to the cost of healthcare if everyone used this service! By the way, the Mdsave.com website, and the customer service staff over the phone were outstanding to work with, and the website was very easy to use. I highly recommend this site and company!!! As a small business owner, I found myself without insurance coverage in 2016 as private insurers began moving out of the market and I lost my high-deductible coverage. I do not qualify for a subsidy for Marketplace policies which were quoted to me at $1,500-$2,500/month, as much as a mortgage payment. I joined a local direct primary care physician's group which provided me with in-office doctor's care, but not essential procedures such as mammograms. I went without a mammogram for 3 years, until my doctor told me about MDsave. Much like shopping on Amazon, I visited MDsave.com, found a provider in my area, paid $99 for a mammogram (October special) and called to schedule my appointment. I went for my procedure in May 2020 (right during the middle of COVID season). I was hesitant to go to a hospital for the procedure but I was thrilled to see that they were taking extreme precautions to keep everyone safe. I went to patient registration, where they had all of my information on file, showed my ID and went on to the diagnostic lab. I was the only patient in the lab and was in and out in 10 minutes. Quick and easy, up-front pricing, no worry about follow up medical bills coming in the mail, and I got the testing that I had neglected for a few years because of cost and no insurance coverage. I personally couldn't be more thankful for the network of providers that have banded together to provide quality healthcare at reasonable prices that you can plan for. As with anything, check with your particular insurance company if you have questions regarding deductibles or other issues as they are the ones who drive those decisions. As for me, I'll be using MDsave for many years to come!

Implied you could apply to deductible with your insurance. Wrong. Need to be up front with patients.

I had a colonoscopy scheduled when I received a call from the hospital offering me a discount if I used MDsave and paid in full in advance of my procedure. They said the payment that I made would count toward the deductible on my insurance. Big lie! I have spent several months trying to get Blue Cross Blue Shield to coordinate with MDsave, with no luck. This program is designed for uninsured people, and I was lied to when I was told it would count toward my insurance.
