I had over 6 years on Amazon KDP and it showed no mercy towards my income. I always uploaded books that complied with Amazon's rules, never bought reviews, my books were my own property, generating $3000 to $5000 per month, and it wasn't enough for Amazon to reopen my account. Amazon terminated my account over an unpublished book that generated no revenue; that book had been inactive for years, and Amazon used it as an excuse to shut down my business. I believe that each account should have a traffic light and an indicator to know the health of the accounts, this to not harm the authors. Amazon takes money from the authors and damages hundreds of families worldwide. We dedicate hours, money, and time to create books for their platform and from one day to the next they close the account and keep the money.

Had to go through 'review ' process that minimally improved the quality. Quite amateurish in handling art files. Got worse instead of better. No person to person involvement or way of contacting anyone. Barnes and Noble is also detached but the quality was better in handling art files. The cover was relatively the same quality but we struggled with the spine lettering dimensions on the Amazon. I wholeheartedly do not recommend Amazon KDP for graphic novel.

I was told me that in order to publish my book I needed to provide my Amazon password. This is when I realized I was dealing with scammers or a shady company and not Amazon. So I refused to give them my password and after researching the website I realized the following: They have in tiny letters that they are using logos on their website but that they do not have any affiliation to any of those. They have pictures on their website that give the impression of having great ratings, of being recommended by Forbes, business insider and such and are all fake. Then I saw many other similar websites that clearly belong to the same criminals to get people no matter what google search they do, such as: Amazonselfpublishinghouse.com, KDPdirectPublishers.com , RooseveltPublishers.com , Amazonpublishingdirect.com to name a few. If you look at the “About” you will read the same verbiage. And their address is a mailing place.

Come molti ho avuto una pessima esperienza, che ha portato alla chiusura dell'account. La prima volta con una copertina che avevo commissionato, con un immagine su licenza di chi l'aveva fatta, e dicendomi che dovevo essere io l'intestatario della licenza perché così non andava bene (molto probabilmente perché c'era già un libro con quella immagine in copertina, ma questo non me lo hanno detto, l'ho dovuto capire da solo). L'ultima volta, che il titolo del libro assomigliava troppo ad un altro libro (come se esistesse un esclusiva sui titoli di libri con parole di uso comune), e rispondendo inviando un immagine di esempio di 3 libri con lo stesso identico titolo, e uno di questi pubblicati da amazon. E come succede spesso che nemmeno loro rispettano le loro stesse regole, e le cambiano quando vogliono, non mi hanno dato una risposta vera, ma solo quelle precompilate, ma nell'ultima email mi veniva chiesto l'invio di documenti per pubblicarlo, che ho fatto(registrando il libro, con un costo, per fortuna di poco). Cosa è successo? Che il giorno dopo mi inviano un email di chiusura dell'account per avere violato i loro termini e condizioni. La domanda che mi sono fatto è stato perché me lo hanno chiesto? Purtroppo non c'è una vera assistenza, ma solo risposte precompilate, e persone che cambiano continuamente, e non sono esperte. Se volete pubblicare con loro, fatelo senza spendere un centesimo, perché potreste trovarmi nella stessa situazione mia e di altri, e soprattutto non spendete soldi in pubblicità, ad esempio io l'ho fatto (per fortuna poco), per evitare di perdere soldi investiti nella pubblicazione, per adeguarvi alle loro regole sulla copertina e impaginazione. E soprattutto se lo fate, non date l'esclusiva a kdp, ci sono anche altri che possono pubblicare i vostri libri senza spendere troppo.

I have been with KDP for 6 months and have not received one dime for any of my journals, books or, calendars. I have created 138 pieces of work and just received an email that my titles were not approved for the site and that they were closes my account down. I believe whomever is going over the work is stealing the work from the customers. I have waited for compensation for six months and nothing! This was a scam to the highest level. Either the people who work for the company are stealing the content or the process was fraudulent.

You cant even close down their account. Ive published my book on other platform, but I was denied by Amazon even from that platform, probably because I am from Israel. But hey I cant use PayPal there, and they dont work with Israeli banks. Kdp does not give you answers or any other way to contact them.

Se avessi avuto la possibilita' non gli avrei dato neanche una stella, ho scritto un libro, comprando anche il copyright, ho avuto problemi con le dimensioni della copertina, nel mentre sistemavo la copertina mi hanno chiuso l'account con una e-mail che non spiega nulla: Le violazioni interessano i seguenti titoli: 57568878, dopo giorni di ricerca per capire cos'e' questa violazione, nulla ho trovato in merito, ho passato il tutto ad un mio amico avvocato, mi ha risposto che non c'e' nessuna violazione, nel mio libro e nei miei dati. Non mi hanno mai risposto. State alla larga sono incompetenti.
