I liked that the service is affordable and easy to use. However, I disliked that there are several fees I did not know about when purchasing the service. I payed 500 to start the service then had to pay 1600 for attorney representation. The total was over 2,000 dollars I wish I knew how much the overall cost for everything was going to be.

I felt trapped and misled when I discovered after purchasing the base service that both me and my partner needed additional legal counsel to sign off on a waiver based on our selections in the questionnaire process. This required additional service more than tripled the advertised price. There was no flexibility to use our own legal counsel to circumvent the additional ~$800 per person through the platform. I thought the possibility of required additional fees were not properly communicated during initial purchase of the base service.

Hi Jonell, We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and appreciate the opportunity to better communicate circumstances that may require attorney involvement so couples can better understand the potential total cost before purchasing. All pricing is reflected on our website and discoverable on all search platforms. With that said, we are actively seeking better ways to support transparency throughout the customer journey. If you have any suggestions, please contact us at [email protected] so we can review your experience and see how we may be able to help. Thank you for the opportunity to improve!
The online notary couldn’t help because helloprenup had a “known bug” where we couldn’t sign. Super stressful. We had to print out and get notarized. When asking them to send us the agreement they sent the one that wasn’t signed by my attorney and we didn’t realize until after it got notarized in person. When messaging them they said oh we thought you just wanted any copy. It’s great for a quick prenup in a bind, but still spend 2k - may as well get a lawyer you can see in person.

Hi Jillian, Thank you for your feedback regarding your signing & notarization process through our partnership with Proof. We take these issues incredibly seriously and have escalated to Proof to resolve. Proof should work. Period. There is no excuse for this. This is below our acceptable levels of couple satisfaction and are grateful for you sharing your experience in order to improve.
Found site difficult to navigate, communication difficulties, unable to print draft or foward copy to my kids to review, etc. My fiancé is having trouble going back to add info to financials

The technology was spotty at best. We finally got the job done, but with a good amount of tech support. Also got double charged, we think thanks to the tech issues, but had to reach out several days later once I noticed to get the second charge reversed.

Hi Kathryn, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We’re glad to hear your prenup was ultimately completed, but we’re sorry that you experienced technical issues along the way. That’s not the seamless experience we aim to provide. We also appreciate you flagging the duplicate charge. While rare, issues like this can happen when there are interruptions during checkout, and we’re glad our team was able to resolve the refund for you quickly once it was brought to our attention. Your comments help us continue to refine both our technology and our support processes. If you have any remaining questions or need anything else, please feel free to reach out to us anytime at [email protected]. Thank you again for using HelloPrenup and for giving us the chance to improve.
Great service but because of maintenance (scheduled but it took longer than anticipated) we had to redo our prenup a couple times. The built in options also aren’t very customizable so you definitely have to work with a lawyer and have them make a bunch of tweaks. Would also have been really helpful to have information on what things default to legally if there isn’t a prenup in place or if you don’t specify things.

Hi Rachel, Thank you for sharing this thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear you found value in the service, and we’re equally sorry for the inconvenience caused by the extended maintenance window. Our goal is always to minimize disruptions, and we appreciate your patience. We also hear you on customization. HelloPrenup is designed to streamline the process with clear, structured options, but many couples do choose to collaborate with an attorney for additional tailoring — and we’re always working to expand flexibility where it makes sense. Your suggestion about adding information on what the default laws are when there’s no prenup (or when certain terms aren’t specified) is especially helpful. This is something our team is actively working on now, and your comment reinforces how valuable it will be for users. Thank you again for the constructive feedback — it genuinely helps us continue improving the platform. If there’s anything else we can assist with, please feel free to reach out at [email protected].
Overall experience was good, however, the online notarization process was a mess as the service did not allow my fiancé to verify her identify as she did not have a SSN or ITIN. No where was that disclosed ahead of time so we were left scrambling at the last minute to find a replacement notary which caused a lot of unneeded last minute stress and anxiety as to whether we would be able to get it completed. They did refund us the money for it which was good but they need to do a better job of disclosing that it doesn't work for foreigners.

Hi Stephen, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, we’re glad to hear your overall experience was positive, but we’re very sorry for the stress surrounding the online notarization. We know how important timing is, and this situation understandably created last-minute pressure. To clarify: the identity-verification issue you encountered is a limitation of our third-party online notary provider (PROOF), which requires a U.S. SSN or ITIN for certain international users. We agree that this requirement should be clearer, and we are actively updating our platform to better highlight these constraints upfront so non-U.S. signers are not caught off guard. We’re glad our team was able to refund the notary fee quickly, and we genuinely appreciate your feedback — it helps us continue improving transparency for all couples. If there’s anything more we can do, please feel free to reach out anytime at [email protected].
This was a very straight forward process. Working with your partner to review the questionnaire portion is helpful. This would be the best service and completely stress free IF the website actually provides suggested legal services like it advertises. At least, if you live in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area, you will not find legal services to review the prenup. Whatever you thought you were saving, you may end up spending on legal fees after all! Some may not want to have an attorney review it, but that is a huge faux pas and may pay for it later when a judge denies the validity of the prenup regardless of notary signatures.
