Hi Jen, Thank you for this thoughtful feedback. We’re glad the questionnaire was easy to navigate, but we hear your frustration when the final agreement included language you didn’t recognize from the questions or couldn’t change directly. The questionnaire captures the decisions needed to create your prenup, while the agreement also includes the detailed legal language and standard provisions required to put those decisions into effect. Because of that, every paragraph will not always correspond to a single question. When a couple wants custom terms beyond the options available on the platform, an attorney may be needed to provide legal advice and draft that language. Attorney services are not intended to be a required upsell. Your suggestions for adding more questions and linking provisions back to the answers that generated them are genuinely helpful. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can review the specific provisions you encountered and better understand where the process fell short. We appreciate the opportunity to improve.

Hi Laura, We’re truly sorry to hear that this was your experience during what should have been an exciting time leading up to your wedding. We know how stressful prenups can feel on their own, and we never want anyone to feel additional strain. For transparency, we do want to clarify one important point: when an attorney identifies a conflict of interest, they are legally required to withdraw from representation. This is a professional and ethical obligation, not a discretionary decision, and it is not related to dissatisfaction with a client. In your case, another attorney from the network immediately stepped in so that your agreement could be finalized, which it was shortly thereafter. That said, the experience you describe (including any confusion or frustration) is not what we want for our users. We would appreciate the opportunity to review the matter more closely and ensure any concerns are addressed appropriately. Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] so we can help. Thank you for sharing your feedback so we can continue improving the platform and the overall experience for all couples.

Hi Tyler, Thank you for your feedback. HelloPrenup’s platform is designed intentionally so that partners do not need to select identical answers in order for the prenup to be generated. Prenuptial agreements are, by definition, negotiated documents, and it’s very common (and expected) that couples start with different preferences. Our system flags certain issues, provides education, and ultimately allows couples to align on all terms before signing by reviewing the document, a process that has helped thousands of couples create legally-sound agreements. We also want to clarify that our California property provisions do not default to anything that contradicts California law. All California-specific language is drafted in consultation with licensed attorneys in California and is compliant with California’s Family Code and case law governing enforceability of premarital agreements. That said, we take all feedback seriously. We have reached out to you directly via email but didn’t hear back. If something in your experience felt confusing or unclear, our team would love the chance to speak with you directly, review your account, and make sure everything was addressed properly. You can reach us anytime at [email protected]. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts — transparency helps us continue improving the platform for all couples.

Hi Nicole, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback — we’re relieved that everything was ultimately recovered, but we’re very sorry for the stress this caused, especially so close to your wedding. A software update should never disrupt your progress, and we understand how frustrating and time-sensitive that situation must have felt. We appreciate your patience while our team and your attorneys worked together to restore your draft. Since then, we’ve implemented additional safeguards around updates and data integrity to help ensure this type of disruption doesn’t happen again. Your experience is incredibly important to us, and feedback like this helps us continue strengthening the platform for all couples. If you need anything further, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected].

Hi Leonard, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We’re truly sorry that parts of your experience were stressful, especially during attorney review. A brief maintenance window should not disrupt your progress, and we understand how frustrating the timing must have felt. We’ve since strengthened our update and data-integrity safeguards to help prevent similar interruptions in the future. Regarding your concern about attorney interactions, we take that feedback seriously. Each attorney in our network is an independent professional with their own communication style and ethical obligations, and they are required to provide candid legal advice — even when that involves highlighting risks or pointing out imbalances. That said, no client should ever feel uncomfortable or disrespected during the process, and we’re always open to reviewing any concerns privately to ensure quality and professionalism across the network. If you’re willing, we’d appreciate the opportunity to learn more and address any outstanding issues. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected].

Hi Thomas, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the process felt more complicated than you were hoping for. We know some couples prefer a very simple set of terms, and we always aim to make the experience as streamlined as possible. That said, prenuptial agreements do require certain information to be included, even when couples want a very minimal document. This isn’t unique to HelloPrenup — it’s standard legal practice and something a traditional attorney would typically also require, because full financial disclosure and certain baseline terms are what ensure a prenup is valid, enforceable, and protective for both partners in the future. Skipping those elements could actually put the agreement at risk. We understand it can feel like a lot, but the goal is for your prenup stand up if it ever needs to, and to keep you covered. If you have any follow-up questions or would like help simplifying your agreement to the essentials, our team is always here at [email protected].
