GermanShop24 is a family owned business and was founded in 2007 by Stefan Kuehnert - originally as a hobby. We started selling over the internet in September 2007 after setting up the very first version of our online shop. The assortment back then was just about 250 products, but still we got in the first order just 2 days after the initial launch. During the following months, orders slightly increased to 5-6 orders per week and there was not much progress in 2008.In 2009 Katrin Kuehnert joined the team and we started to expand our assortment. At the end of 2009 we offered about 2000 different items - all available to be ordered. Orders also went up in 2009 to about 30 per week.In the years between 2010 and 2015 we nearly doubled our revenue each year and we now have a yearly sales volume of about $1.5 Million making us one of the leading online shops for German food world wide, even though we are specialized in shipping to the US.In 2015 we expended our business and now serving wholesalers in different countries including the US and China. We offer air and sea freight service for wholesalers and take care about fulfilling all legal requirements for the destination countries.

On 3 FEB 26 I made a $345 Germanshop 24 purchase. It never arrived. Subsequently I made several calls and e-mails to Germanshop 24 to request a refund. I received only one e-mail response. That 19 MAY e-mail stated they were working on refunds. As of today, 4 SEP 26, I have not heard back from Germanshop 24.

My order was absolutely perfect. The packaging was done so well and that is truly appreciated. My only wish is that you will soon be able to sell Harry’s bread. I still have a few packages in my freezer but hoping to order more from you in the future. I miss ordering directly from you in Germany but hope you will enjoy being in California.

Germanshop24 enjoys to correct it's customers. However, why would I write such a novel and make it all up? I don't have the time, nor energy to be vindictive towards one business. Long time customer, occasionally annoyed by the fact that they just substitute items without notifying me until it's shipped. At least that's been fixed, with direct refunds. But my most recent order occurred as follows: Placed order 9Aug, package arrived 19Aug/Wed. Partial order, items missing. Requested via email about the partial shipment, inquired about the remaining items. Figured I'd get an answer by Friday, but still nothing the following Monday. Contacted them via the "contact me" button on the website to follow up which finally yielded me a response, however it only stated about "they're still trying to figure things what happened" (paraphrased, not quoted). Replied to them with the questions they had on the same day. Three days later, I yet have to receive a response and now the "contact me" button is greyed out (a problem that is still an issue). At least giving me an estimated timeline would have been appreciated, considering the amount I've spent. I've tried to consolidate on this site to make things easier, but that wasn't going well. I ordered ahead of time, because some of the items were time-sensitive, yet they came late. Trying to resolve this was a headache, to put it politely and communication was atrocious and anything but timid. I did get the items...eventually, but now it seems I'm having to fight with the company on the review, calling me a liar. Any reputable company would take the L, utilize the constructive criticism and better themselves, but it's abundantly clear that you're not a German company (My husband just confirmed, you lost your German card. Please turn it in at the LA Consulate). None of this is against a specific company, small businesses or any other issues that you've been having (your words according to emails). I get it, small business constraints et-cetera. We're discussing customer correspondence, response times, and courtesy. Anyways, I'm tired boss, I wanted to get my stuff and move on with life. I wanted to be treated like a customer, not a stack of dollar bills. Nevertheless, I've learned my lesson, don't support Germanshop24, take my money somewhere else.

Updated reply after customer update: Dear customer, we are sorry that this situation was frustrating for you. We do, however, want to clarify a few points for anyone reading this review, as some of the statements above do not accurately reflect what happened. First, we fully acknowledge that our initial response took longer than it should have. We apologize for that. We understand that when an order arrives with missing items, a customer understandably wants an answer as quickly as possible. However, since this was a very unusual case, it took us some significant investigating and double-checking with many sources in order to figure out what had gone wrong with this shipment. The missing items, however, were not left out of your order by our packing team. After reviewing the information and photos you provided, we determined that the package had apparently been opened or damaged while in transit, resulting in part of the shipment being lost. We subsequently filed a claim with the shipping carrier and, rather than asking you to wait for the carrier's investigation to be completed, we sent you replacement items and refunded the products that were no longer available. We also want to clarify that we have not disabled our inquiry/contact option, nor do we "ghost" customers. Customers can contact us by email or phone, and we continue to receive and respond to customer inquiries and investigate reported problems with orders. Like any small business, there are occasions when a response may take longer than we would like. We take customer concerns seriously and always try to resolve legitimate problems with an order fairly. In this case, although the shipment itself was unfortunately affected by an issue during transit, we took responsibility for making sure the customer received either the missing products or a refund where replacement was not possible. We respect that this experience was frustrating, but we also believe it is important that future customers have the full picture rather than the impression that we ignored a customer or refused to resolve a problem. That is simply not what happened. We appreciate your business in the past and are sorry that this particular shipment caused frustration.
The new problems with US Customs have made it impossible to get my order from Germany. I was told that I would get a refund but to be patient. After a while I was worried and asked about my refund again, thinking that I will not get it. But the very next day a refund was issued and it was credited back to my card within 2 days. I was very grateful and I am impressed with the honest service I have received. I will continue ordering, albeit from the new store. Thank you very much

I am hopeful that this company will soon achieve its former glory as a reliable supplier of German food specialties. The supply chain disruptions resulted from trade issues that were out of this company's control. Unfortunately, my order had to be cancelled, but (true to their word) I was issued a full refund upon my request. Here's to a brighter future.

I have been a loyal customer of GermanShop24 for years and always loved your selection. However, since the move to the U.S., I've noticed that many of the items I used to enjoy are no longer available. The current selection feels much more limited, and a lot of the products I'd typically buy are missing. It's honestly disappointing, as your shop used to be my go-to. I hope you'll consider bringing back more of the original items.

Dear Anyo, thank you for your review. Yes, some items that we used to carry are not available at our new location, but we are actively working on adding more things to our inventory and re-stocking on all the popular items. We also just added some items that we previously were not able to offer, such as sausages, and more to come. So yes, our range of products will be slightly smaller moving forward, but not necessarily worse ;)
Order not received due to custom issues which I can understand due to the circumstances but there is no other way to contact the company than calling a service hotline where no one ever responds. It comes as no surprise that after 3 months, I have also not received my order or a refund. Communication is key but they are making it impossible to even get in contact with them.

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are reachable via the posted email address and phone number. While we are unfortunately not always able to answer every call immediately — especially during the past couple of months when call volumes have been unusually high — we do make every effort to respond to all customers who leave a voicemail or contact us by email, and we have done so consistently. We sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience and for the failed order. In the meantime, the refund has been processed and should already be reflected in your account. Thank you once again for your patience, understanding, and continued support.
ordered end of january, never received it. was told it didn't pass customs, then they were moving to a warehouse. I asked for a refund, they said bc of volume it would the refund would be delayed, almost another month later and I still don't have my refund. File a report with the BBB and the FTC. 5/2/26 I still don't have a refund! in addition to reporting them to the bbb and ftc, I recommend also reporting to the FBI financial crimes (ic3.gov) and making public social media post so no one else gets scammed. (make sure to tag him and his company :)) In my opinion based on the reply below , it seems like Germanshop24.com did not manage their cash flow properly and doesn't have the money to refund all of their customers. Don't expect you money anytime soon. 5/6/26 after several social media posts, reports made to agencies and filing a charge back I finally have my refund pending in my account.

Hello, we apologize and understand the frustration with the failed shipment of your order. Unfortunately, US customs had rejected a large number of our packages. This affected several hundreds of our shipments from January/February 2026 which we had already shipped and paid for. This is why the cancellation and refunding process takes longer, but we are actively working on getting all failed shipments refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience. As a response to these shipping difficulties, we have now relocated our operations to ship domestically from within the United States, so that they will not be affected by importing and customs issues anymore.
