First i had to pay upfront for tank set, tank fill and delivery charges and it's over $500!!! I paid and waited and waited, called customer service every week for 3 weeks and kept getting told someone would call me with a time and date coming to set me up. Keep in mind they don't fill it the day they set tank on ground and hook up and the fact that this company is only option for us in my area. So they do what they want. I finally got tank and a couple days later filled. I live in a 33' fifth wheel camper by myself. I looked at my account and noticed i was charged for a tank fill before my tank was even set. I was charged for tank and propane in it when set and then again a couple days later when they came back to fill. Being charged delivery each time. I have emailed someone about this on 3 occasions and still no response. I'm in Iowa and this weekend it's going to be -14 and I'm at 30% or less in my tank and i paid what they said i owed, $180+ to be told i had to also pay for what i was going to get upfront of $176!!! In a matter of 3 months or less I've been charged almost $800 for propane!!! Paying upfront and then they tell me it will be delivered between now, the 11th of January and the 23rd!!!! Why are we paying upfront for something we don't know how much we will need by the time they get here???? The delivery guys never leave a receipt or anything stating they were there to fill and the website is a joke. I went in to pay my amount due and how i had a balance due i don't know but i made another payment and it said payment already pending and then i had to pay the upfront costs for the new order i placed that i may not get for 2 weeks when it's freezing out and below 0. I've asked for an explanation about why I'm paying this much when tank wasn't set until nov 30th!!!! And i agree with others that the customer service girl i spoke with before was very rude. They don't care about any customers when they are the only option to get service. I'm a single woman with limited income and being charged like I'm living in a mansion and being charged for fills of propane before it was even set up for it. I filed a complaint with bbb as well and will be filing them everywhere i can. Hoping to get some help on this matter.

WOW, I wish I had read all these bad reviews before contacting Ferrell Gas. I can certainly relate to everybody's dissatisfaction with this company, add me to the list of unhappy displeased customers. I called Ferrell Gas to fill my propane tank with the understanding they would light the stove pilot light for free at the same time. Within the next couple of days when I first needed to turn the heat on my stove, the pilot light was out. I called Ferrell Gas, again with the understanding they would light the pilot light without charge since it was not working properly. Today, I received a bill for re-lighting the pilot. You know it’s like this….. it is not about the money as much as it is about the customer service which seems to be at the very bottom of the totem pole for Ferrell Gas from the looks of all these bad reviews and my experience with them. If anyone is looking for a gas company, do yourself a favor and look for another company, not a company that does not live up to their promise and that will add every kind of imaginable surcharge fee they can think of to your bill. Ferrell Gas....Never again!!

Unfortunately my experience with Ferrell Gas has been less the favorable. I have been requesting a tank pick up since Aug 7th. I have called more then a 1/2 doz times. I have even started requesting that management contact me. Management has never attempted to contact me. The company did tell me that I was scheduled for a pick up and that I had to be here. I waited for the 3 hr window + 1 ex hour and no one called or showed. I receive the run around each time I call. "Well, tank pick up is a low priority and we have too many many other calls to address." It isn't even cold out yet. They owe me money for the fuel that is in there and for the rental fee. At this point I was left to review here because I am beyond the point of receiving the runaround. They ordering fuel system is not an easy friendly one. I have tried using the online version and couldn't get in because it would not allow me to reset password which it was prompting me for. When I have called you can wait on hold for ever after going through the computer prompts, and then I end up with someone in Florida that is not able to help me... Beyond frustrating. Use a smaller local company that actually picks up the phone when you call.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced. We’ve been a customer for over 13 years and in the last 3 years, they have spiraled. It is like pulling teeth to get a fill. When I finally managed to speak to a person today, she ended the call by telling me to “feel free to find a different provider, if you’re not happy”. Don’t worry, I will.

They let me run out of gas for four sub zero days over Christmas 2022. Emergency lines had no response. Prices after add-ons are about .40/gal higher than other local supplier. Still sending me bills for fuel surcharge after account cancelled.

This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with- I cancelled my account after having constant issues with delivery schedules being met. I also had a gas leak at the tank which they told me would be 1-2 weeks before they could investigate. Took me several calls to get them out. By that time my full tank was empty. I canceled the account and switched suppliers. Now it has been several weeks and several phone calls and they still have not come out and removed their tank From my front yard. They originally told me two weeks to pick up, then three, now they are telling me 6 months! I am currently checking with law enforcement to discuss options.

Unbelievable!! Calls are routed to Washington @ Texas. On hold for 15 minutes. Told they can't deliver in our area (SF Bay area) because of ice and snow on roads. One said drivers work 12 hours a day and another, 16 hours a day. Shouldn't have to wait for 2 weeks for a fill or partial end of load. It's just poor management. I can't even get thru to my local delivery just 15 miles away. It's incompetence at the highest level. Called 3 other companies and they said the could deliver next day until I said we were with Ferrellgas. Then told they can only deliver to their own tank.

On December 20th, 2022, while considering my options for the pending cold snap, I called Ferrellgas to inquire about 100 gallons of gas and the delivery window. I found I could afford it and the window I was given ended December 28th which made it a reasonable option and I decided to go this way. I put my money in the bank and called them back and ordered my gas. I was never given a confirmation so I called back to confirm and was again told my delivery window ended December 28th. This information in fact is still listed as my delivery date on the website. I called back to inquire after the 28th if there was any idea when my gas was coming and if there was anything I needed to do safety-wise with my pilot lights if my gas ran completely out because they did not deliver by the weekend. I was told by a customer service agent that I was stupid for not ordering earlier. Let me be clear that 16% of my 300 gallon tank would have lasted me at least two months had I not decided to use my central heat because of the information I was given by Ferrellgas to heat my home during the cold snap. I would still have hot water and use of my stove and oven today. Yesterday the website said my order was out for delivery and was due to be delivered at 12:42 p.m. At 3:00 I called back to ask about this because it had not shown up and I was assured it was definitely on the truck and coming “today” (Jan 3). Today January 4th, 2023 the website no longer says out for delivery. I was told by a customer service agent that my gas was never out for delivery. However I have a picture of the web page that says it was as well as a recorded phone call with the agent I spoke to on the evening of January 3rd when it was supposedly out for delivery. The agent I spoke with today, January 4th 2023, told me she would forward this information to the delivery people and that they would call me back. I am not going to hold my breath on that. I would however like to know what happened to my gas that was supposedly loaded on a truck. Again, let me be clear I had several other options to heat my home during the Cold Snap and had I been informed more correctly. I would have chosen a different way and would still have use of hot water and my stove today and for many weeks to come. If at any point in tge pricess the delivery date was amended to reflect a delay, there were things I could have done differently- even at that point- to attempt to make it last longer. Furthermore, I did allow for the estimate to be a few days short- but not over a week. I am suspicious at this point that there is no process in reaching the estimate. While most of the customer service agents have been very polite I'm very convinced at this point that I am just being being given a polite running around. I also know that there are a lot of people in this situation who are far less able to handle it than I am and this could be life or death for them. This is ridiculous. Based on reviews, ect. That I am seeing all over the internet, this is common practice for this company.
