Cherry Tree DesignReviews of cherrytreedesign.com

Cherry Tree provided great design help and I carefully reviewed all measurements before signing off on the order, but one of the door tracks was shipped with the wrong width. Fortunately, it was too long and the installer had experience and the right tools to cut it properly. One other recommendation I would make is to stain all sides of pieces that could be installed with either side visible to the room, such as a narrow groove bottom track. The product looks great and creates the effect we wanted.

Nice product, well made and looking good. Good service from Virginia, particularly after problem with shipping. I recommend this product.

The screen arrived with the paper pushed up on two panels. It was packed very well so I think it was a shipper issue. The Valence was not cut and mitered to size. I found this disappointing. I had a friend that was a excellent woodworker with a miter and corner clamps. I would expect at this price it would have been finished. Every other thing was fine.

The process of placing the order was extremely professional and Bev was excellent to work with. We had issues, however, with door jambs arriving without stops, shoji doors arriving with "B" sides of the wood not matching the rest of the doors. We also experienced some damage during shipping, but I only hold Cherry Tree Design responsible for 10% of this.

Assembly went smoothly except kick panel was .06 inches too high but I could fortunately trim the excess since it was a concealed cut. More thought needs to be put into the valance end caps. Only one mitered end was provided on our custom order. I am to miter the other end plus the two end caps. For anyone except a very well-equipped finish carpenter the average DIY'er will find it impossible to miter the extremely hard, tight grained bamboo without special tools. I didn't do a great job joining the mitered corners and it ruins the effect of the rest of the precision product. No end caps for the extruded aluminum rail are provide so an adhesive has to be applied by the user. I suggest that Cherry Tree Design provide pre-mitered end caps, miters at both ends of the facia piece and leave only one simple square cut for the installer.

Four Sojhi sliding doors are the "front end" of a 12' wide by 3' deep pantry at one end of the kitchen. Two critical items that resulted in a spectacular result are: 1) the perfection that Cherry Tree Design achieves in the construction of the doors and selection of related hardware components, and, 2) a talented craftsman to ensure that the installation is exactly as envisioned. The doors arrived on schedule and carefully packaged and the installation went extremely well. The ordering process was a little bumpy as I am an amateur design enthusiast but have no expertise in woodworking, door hanging, etc.. The person on the phone almost seemed annoyed that I didn't know all her lingo and seemed anxious to get me off the phone. The general contractor who is managing significant renovations at my home called with questions a few days later and that knowledgeable individual indicated, without prompting, a similar encounter on the phone. The good news is the initial bumps were all resolved and the results are terrific. I'd definitely order again, but my advice to all is to have a knowledgeable "installer" involved in the ordering process to avoid any surprises.

Great quality, looks very nice, one of the door handle came off on its own during installation, had to glue it back on.

All was as expected, other than the rice paper was wavy and not smooth as I expected. The doors are well made and fit the opening perfectly. Very easy to install and the sales process was excellent! I would give a 5 star rating had the rice paper been tighter in the cells...
