Charging extra for background checks is unacceptable.
By Chris
Response from Care.com· Nov 12, 2015
Hi Chris, we apologize for any confusion. Unlimited Preliminary Background Checks are an included benefit in all Premium Subscriptions for families/individuals looking to hire. We do offer additional enhanced Background Checks at an additional fee.
While the site is easy to navigate, the fees charged are ridiculous. And when you cancel your service it seems the cancellation takes awhile as you still get charged even though you cancelled and didn't use the site.

Momto2Teens, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We're glad you found the site was easy to navigate and appreciate your feedback on our subscription fees. Once an account is set to downgrade, it is set to downgrade at the end of the current billing cycle. If you would like us to look at any charges on your account, please send us an e-mail at [email protected]. Thanks again!
I have ongoing care needs for my special needs daughter. Care.com has taken my job posting off in their time frame, not mine. I have very few people applying for this position.

Hi Sally, Thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback. All jobs will automatically close after 30 days however, you are able to edit this and change the closing date of the job at anytime. With that said, if your job has been closed and you would like to re-open it you can simply log into your account, and click "My Jobs" on the left side of the page. Next, find the job you would like to re-open, click the “Re-Open Job” link just below your job post’s title, make all the changes you’d like, update the “Start” and “End” dates on the job, and click “Submit.” I hope this helps, but if we can be of further assistance please reach out to us at [email protected]. Thank you again for sharing your experience and hope you are able to find a caregiver for your daughter very soon.
I like that care.com makes it easy to find care but I think it is very expensive especially if the person you hired does not work out.

I have found excellent caregivers on Care.com, and I really like the way you can filter for your requirements. In my case, I have to find someone who can work with an autistic child. On the negative side: While it appears that there are many people available in my area, there are way fewer people available in reality. This is VERY frustrating. Even my own regular babysitter has an active profile. This is misleading, because I'll reach out to someone who is already working, and he/she often won't bother to respond, or will respond that they are not available. This seems to be designed so Care.com can continue to get fees from users like me, because I have to contact a dozen people before I even get a return message. This could be avoided, if Care.com chose to charge people for posting their profiles--give incentive, in other words, for removing their profiles once they got hired. The other aggravating thing is that some people post their rate range, but when you contact them, their rate is higher by $5 - $15 per hour. This is not the fault of Care.com, but rather the posters. It just makes me want to go elsewhere to find care.

Hi Karen! We're so thrilled to hear you've found Care.com so useful and have hired many excellent caregivers! We appreciate your valuable feedback and thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience.
I have used Care.com in the past and am dissapointed that many of the care professionals I have contacted never respond and/or I don't get anyone interested in my positions. It's very expensive for taht kind of response.

I'm not seeing any responses to my job posting. Is anyone seeing it? Is my posting needing help?

Response from Care.com· Nov 6, 2015
Hi Dolores, If you are concerned that your job is not posted please take a moment to email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to take a look at your account. Additionally, you can always view this information yourself by logging into your account and clicking on the "My Jobs" link from the left panel. You'll then see your current job and any previous jobs if you've posted before. All posted jobs will be labeled as "Open". Jobs labeled as"Closed" or "Pending" would indicate that they are not posted, and do not appear in search results. I hope that helps and wish you all the best with your search!
the first pet sitter was dishonest, a no show 2x and never returned the key after repeated requests. Delia had us fooled. Care could have given me a better rate or discount for the horrendous experience but was too cheap to do so. NOT the best service. I have not found someone yet. Alot of youngsters...beware.
