Before you invest in a Bruno Stair Lift you had better check into the availability and the cost of service. I have waited for 3 weeks to even get a repair man to come an evalute the problem and then another several weeks while the parts are ordered. Lovely equipment but if you can't get service it is useless. The only people who can work on Bruno are the Bruno dealers and there is only one in my area so they pretty much determine the service.

I am really not pleased. I bought a Bruno Elite approximately 4 years ago. I have had service out a number of times to deal with issues. Some of the rollers had to be replaced within a couple of months of installation. The rollers were replaced again after a couple of years of use. Then some replaced again last year. The Rail showed signs of scratching from the broken rollers after the rollers broke the first time. The scratching has turned into very noticeable gouges. During a service call last fall the Technician said the rail should be replaced. The office vetoed that I had to replace the rocker up down switch within a year and a half of installation. It was not under warranty. The batteries were changed last fall. They had to be changed again in June, then again last week. Now the charger is being tested as I write this. The cost of a new OEM charger is $575 cdn plus a $125 service call. That is about 20% to 25% of the cost of a new stair lift installed. The copper strips have to be cleaned frequently to ensure that the chairlift will work. The front of the rail also has to be cleaned almost daily. Grease from the gears seems to find its way onto the rail. I am now considering junking the Bruno and replacing it with another stairlift.

Nicole Spearman (install coordinator) was rude, condescending and overall, not professional. If I were not desperate to replace the stair chair to accommodate an injured employee, I would have gone a different direction and used another company. The stair chair that was installed as well as the actual install were great, no issues.

I purchased a Bruno SRE-3049 Elan Stairlift with a Power Swivel in late 2022, and it has been a nightmare. I wish there was a lemon law for this. The power swivel worked intermittently for over a year until it was finally fixed by changing some parts and a pin. A few months later, it stopped working halfway, and I believe they changed the battery. Today, it has no power again, and a tech will need to come out. I deeply regret choosing this brand. Although my installer is good and hasn't charged me for parts, I would advise everyone to avoid this model.

I live on the west coast and had an issue at 7am so my installer was not available. I called Bruno directly expecting some there could simply help me with the codes as we had a medical appointment to attend. I was informed they have no techs who could even answer a simple question on codes and what I needed to go to fix the chair. Only offered to give me a local provider who, as I told the receptionist, would not be helpful as they do not open until after medical appointment. Never heard of a company unable and unwilling to help. Very disappointing, especially for a company based in Wisconsin (where I was was raised and was taught to help solve problems and help people).

I have no quarrel with the machine itself. It seems well made and well designed - for a stairwell going from a first floor to a second floor. It is totally inappropriate for a basement stairwell however. Basement stairwells typically have heavy woodwork around the doorway, woodwork that gets in the way of the swivel mechanism. I have figured out how to cope with it but not until I creamed my arthritic knees more times than I care to count. If you are in an older house with substantial woodwork around your basement door, please consider another Bruno model (unless you have a short inseam in which case there will be no problem whatsoever). If you need a chair lift for something other than a basement stairwell, I think you will be quite happy with this Bruno model. Just watch out for the excessive woodwork of an old house!

After install during the first week i kept hearing a grinding noise . Then discoverd metal fileings on two of the rail mounting feet and the new carpet on the stairs . Called my intallation contractor , a tec came out in a few days made some adjustments to the carriage . Next day same noise more fileings , two tecs show up contact one of you enginers like the first time , two options take a grinder to the rail to solve the problem . I am concerened what ever was grinding on the rail in the carriage needs repaired also . Its deturmed better send it back to the Mfg. I have been without the lift for over two weeks . My install team tells me could be four more weeks before they get it back and reinstall . I have fallen once sience with my wife helping me .
