Staff is very friendly and helpful
Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were wondering if theres any way to get ice or use the refrigerator. Bed is very high could have used a step stool. Love the location. We could walk to so much. Weve stayed here at least 5 times in different rooms. I like that you arrange tours for us. Thank you for your hospitality.

We liked the outdoor seating
We liked the outdoor seating. That was relaxing. We were in the California room, so there was no one in the building but us that was nice. However we were told we would have the whole house but when we arrived, we were told that the bottom floor is now used for storage. So all we had was our room. The room was nice, but the bed was not definitely needs a new mattress. We did not sleep well and woke up with aches and pains. We were able to walk too many locations from here.

Hello Linda, thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the outdoor seating, the privacy of the California Room, and the convenient location for exploring nearby spots on foot. We’re sorry the room setup wasn’t what you expected and that the mattress made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention so our team can review them.

Cute place, convenient location
My husband and I had a brief overnight stay at the Brickhouse and stayed in the California House. We enjoyed the privacy as it’s not in the main house. The property has a separate two story building in the backyard right next to the parking area. The California house is the room on the second level. It’s a short walk down the stairs and through the cute yard to the main house. If you want to socialize you can. The room was clean and spacious enough for our brief stay. The entry door doorknob/keypad was a little tricky. The split system was noisy. O’Rourke’s restaurant is a very short walk and you must try their homemade chips!! Culp’s Hill is a short walk. Cute place, convenient location.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review! We’re glad you and your husband enjoyed the privacy of the California House, the clean, spacious room, and the convenient location near O’Rourke’s and Culp’s Hill. We appreciate your feedback about the keypad and noisy split system, too, and will share it with our team. We hope to welcome you both back for another stay!

A step back in time with modern amenities
The swinging chairs on the front porch greeted us as we stepped across the threshold and back in time into the lovely Kentucky Room. The Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The staff were kind and responsive to our needs. I would stay there again!
