The process for an au pair when the family has already found an au pair is too complicated and honestly there are a bunch of extra fees that are not necessary. The man reason I used your agency was to get a VISA to the au pair I found, so I would recommend creating a separate process, more lean and easy for these types of instances.

Overall my au pair has been great so far. However, I do feel more urgency should be put on getting a social security card, bank account, etc when the au pair arrives. This is my au pairs first experience as well as ours. My local coordinator indicated I should wait for the meeting in the first week to discuss. My au pair has now been here almost 2 weeks and we finally have found time to go to the admin building. I have a 2 month old infant but if I had to return to work she would have to uber/drive and navigate this on her own. I think more guidance or urgency would be beneficial to them and us for a smooth introduction.

Communication to review and eventually match with an au pair went well, but the logistics and communication post match has not been as good and not what I expected. The amount of work and ambiguity that has fallen on the host family's lap upon the au pair's arrival to the US has not been clear and has required a lot of unexpected work. The agency needs to be more clear and transparent about some of the requirements (and some of the host family expectations) when the au pair arrives in country, and also the financial implications of the host family taking on these responsibilities. I'd also recommend better communication post match between the host family, au pair and coordinator to ensure a more positive arrival experience.

We’ve had a very positive experience so far and love our au pair who just arrived. However, the set up in the initial weeks has been more involved than we excepted. We have had an inordinate amount of back and forth with our local coordinator in attempting to schedule a home visit. They do not seem flexible to account for our work schedules and our child care needs, particularly during the first weeks when our au pair is here and cannot yet take care of the children independently. It would be helpful for the agency and coordinator to be more understanding that working parents have limited availability during the work week and to try to accommodate visits at alternative times such as weekend or evenings. I’m really glad our au pair is here, but right now it just feels like a lot of work communicating with the agency and getting her set up. This was more involved than we anticipated.

I just had some problems with the host dad he is not receptive, we are trying to figure it out, but the company is giving me a lot of support with the local coordinator who is helping me with this
