My experience with Shannas coaching was nothing short of a miracle. I’m a “young” 71 year old who had lost hope and strength to do anything with my ADHD until I stumbled onto the site on Facebook. I signed up for Expert ADHD Coaching on a whim - a very ADHD whim. I was really growing frustrated with myself - with the calamity of my life - the lack of organization, the lack of follow through and the constant dropping of balls. It was a dichotomy because I’ve achieved a fair amount in my professional career in spite of my bad habits and inability to get myself to do certain things. I seem to have gotten ahead despite doing almost solely what I wanted to do and ignoring the boring stuff. But it has absolutely affected my self esteem to know how many things aren’t getting done. Outside of work, I’ve struggled with basic everyday tasks like cleaning my house and keeping a schedule with my kids. For our first session, my coach and I dove head first into some real-world problems that I was dealing with at work. She affirmed that some of the struggles I was encountering were indicative of ADHD symptoms. So we used the remainder of the session to come up with a game plan. Over the coming months, I found a lot of compassion from my coach, a lot of affirmation that this was all normal for ADHD people and we worked through multiple scenarios in my personal and work life. She would make me get up and do particular activities while we talked on the phone in order to get me through my procrastination. She would also have me text her during the week to keep me accountable to the tasks I was assigned. I learned a lot about simplifying and keeping myself accountable and about how ADHD people think and feel. I’m a trained life coach and have had life coaches before and this was distinctly different as my coach was aware of my limitations due to having ADHD, was compassionate when I struggled, and was quick to have me do it in the moment with exercises to help me get into action at that very second. It’s been an incredibly powerful few months and I’m sure to use Expert ADHD Coaching again in the future.

My time with my ADD coach has been life-changing in so many areas - professionally, personally, relationally. Professionally, I have gained more confidence in my ability to stay focused and get my work done efficiently. Personally, I have been able to get up earlier for work (which I didn't think was possible) and develop a consistent morning routine. I started exercising regularly (which is HUGE), and actually checking things off my to-do list rather than leaving things for months. I use my time more efficiently and am able to set goals and stick to them. Relationally, I have become a better listener and more in control of my emotions and impulses. Highly recommend!

I am very blessed to have stumbled upon Shanna's Expert ADHD Coaching during a time where I was very vulnerable and depressed. I had just taken a leave of absence from grad school due to the immense pressure I was experiencing. My ADHD coach gave me hope that I was competent enough to go back to school. She gave me the courage and taught me the necessary skills to easily transition back to school. I think that me and her make a great team, and I am very grateful to have worked with her for a year. Each session was tailored for my unique problems and I truly felt understand, something that I didn't feel before joining Shanna's Expert ADHD Coaching. I am forever indebted to this company as well as my ADHD coach. Without their guidance, I would have never gotten the courage to get back on my feet!

To put it simply I was a semester away from graduating from college after 6 years. I being very very stubborn tend to bang my head on the wall whether or not what I'm trying to complete is for me. That being said me being willing to give up is a rarity, and this was one of those circumstances . I was struggling constantly to keep up with all assignments, had a below-average GPA, and after one year of Expert ADHD coaching my grades jumped from C's and D's to all A's and B's I was even put on the deans list!!

I started with my Expert ADHD Coach in Fall 2019. I had been diagnosed a year prior and started medication, but I had lived my whole life prior to that not knowing I had ADHD. I really needed someone I could talk to about my personal challenges, which I now knew were related to my ADHD, who really understood how ADHD affected every aspect of my life. I needed someone who I was not constantly having to educate about my ADHD. A regular therapist would not work. A big part of my job is to diagnose and treat ADHD so this expertise was a must. I had been reading up on ADHD but I needed someone who uniquely understood the emotional side of ADHD. My non-ADHD partner, kind as he was, was burnt out on my repeated apologies for doing/not doing [fill in the blank] again. I was frustrated with myself for not being able to strike a balance between work and home. Once I had my coach, I could finally let my guard down and just unload. I did not have to worry about my ADHD "showing" with her, she was a safe harbor for me to be me without judgment. I learned new ways to help myself function better, even without medication. We set goals and I achieved them. She always met me with encouragement and kindness. She believed in me even when I let myself down. I SO needed that encouragement and belief. Today I am happier and more at peace with my ADHD. I have systems in place to keep me on track. If you can relate to anything I wrote, I recommend you try a coach yourself.
