Complete waste of time and…

Complete waste of time and unprofessional. We are in a time crunch to get packed and moved. I reached out to A Better Tripp for a quote on packing and moving and a sales rep named Michael came to my home, walked it with me, and gave me a quote in person. He broke the quote out in labor and then materials totaling $1,400 and said nothing about hours. Being that he was in person and saw everything first hand that would need to be done, I didn’t ask about hours as he seemed to have calculated it in his head. The crew showed up this morning and had a form for me to sign with $2,800 written on it for the packing. Sadly, I didn’t read the paperwork he shot over for me to print and sign because Mike specifically said it would be $1,400 max for the job to be completed so I simply responded “approved” to the email assuming it had listed on the paperwork what he quoted me in person. Thankfully, I didn’t print and sign, but instead had them bring it over day of which is when I noticed the joke of a “to not exceed” price tag of $2,800. Michael called to tell me that the materials were not included in that $1,400 quote and to complete the job would be more and then proceeded to call me a liar and stated “he didn’t know where I came up with that number.” I obviously filled them in that they were out of their minds and could get out of my house. Never. Again. Michael was so rude and a typical crook sales person. I had the house packed for $700 by Power Movers the very next day. They were awesome.

Response from A Better Tripp Moving & Storage· Feb 24, 2023

Brooke Cormier: We try to please all our clients with professionalism and fairness. I realize your time is valuable especially during a move. I am sorry to hear that you believed we did not inform you on the amount. I understand your concerns about our pricing and wanted to take this opportunity to explain. When Mike did your survey he his quote was $2800 or not to exceed $2800 for packing and you responded with an email that you approved the amount. The order was not to exceed $2800; if the amount was lower you pay the lower price. You may not have seen all the information and I am sorry for that. The estimate should clearly be in writing with all charges for the services the mover will perform. The Bill of lading is a contract between you and your mover and receipt of your belongings. The Bill of lading must be signed and dated by you and your mover at origin and destination. I hope this clears up for we want to give you accurate pricing for your move. Sincerely Terri Tripp
