I authorized one $39.95 background check payment, but Wag attempted to charge me two additional times for the same background check. After my bank reversed the duplicate charges, Wag deactivated my caregiver account. Wag then told me I had to work off the disputed amount through future bookings to regain access to my account—even while denying they had ever attempted the duplicate charges in the first place. Wag acknowledged they received payment for my background check, yet never explained why they attempted to bill me multiple times or why I was expected to repay money I dispute owing. I completed only two services, both with 5-star reviews, and had no prior issues. After researching, I found Wag has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and many similar complaints, which made me question whether my experience reflects a broader pattern in how the company handles disputes. I have retained the emails, billing records, and other documentation supporting my account of what occurred.

Matthew, we're sorry to hear about the frustration around your Caregiver experience and the billing questions you've raised. That's not the kind of experience we want for anyone joining the platform. The specifics of what happened with your account and charges are ones we'd like to review with you directly. If you've been in touch with our team, please refer back to your existing email communications so we can continue assisting. Otherwise, you can start with the virtual assistant at support.wagwalking.com or via the Wag! app Help section—an agent will follow up by email within 48 hours or less. We'd appreciate the opportunity to fully address your concerns and look forward to connecting with you on this.

It sounds like Jenn has been a great match for Loki—and just as thoughtful with you, communicative when conflicts came up and sharing photos of your happy pup. Wagging tails really are the best compliment! Loki is clearly in good hands with Jenn—wishing you many more relaxing trips ahead!
I’ve been using the Wag app to take care of my dog Maddie, and it’s been a real help. The sitters are always on time and treat Maddie with kindness and respect. I appreciate the clear communication and the peace of mind it gives me when I’m away.

I love the map, getting to see where they walked, where they peed or pooped, and the walkers that send pictures are my favorite! I feel safe because Wag does background checks as well.

Thank you for your kind review! The walk map is one of our favorites too—it's a fun way to follow along with your pup's outing as it's happening, and to see the route and distance covered. Walkers who take the time to send photos make that connection even sweeter. We're glad the background check process adds to that sense of security—that peace of mind is central to what Wag! aims to bring. We look forward to continuing to support you and your pup!
We planned a trip to Las Vegas over a month in advance after we used Wag to find a caregiver, Tiffany. She came to our house and seemed very nice and we scheduled her to stay at our home while we were away to watch our frenchie and feed the fish. The day before we left I asked her if she wanted to make extra 50$ to feed our bird , or we could board him as planned. She said sure I will. Hours before we left for flight the service said Tiffany said you wanted fish and bird fed. I said yes the fish was discussed from day one but if bird is an issue we can board him. They said that's up to caregiver. Then they replied stating it would be about 120 each extra ! I said ill board the bird and put vacation feeder in tank for fish . She dont have to feed them. I told Tiffany and the service it was not my responsibility to feed her thru her stay but I bought food and offered her 50 cash for bird and she agreed. Now raising the visit 250 more for such little effort was to much so no need for her to feed them . Then we are told Tiffany said she's not coming ! When I booked i was told if caregiver couldn't make it someone else will come but they had No one to replace her. I paid 1550. For a flight , paid for shows and had plans to meet friends there and had to cancel our trip! Lost alot of money doing so as well. Extremely disappointing ! Totally unprofessional on Tiffany's part and the service. Do not trust your caregiver will show! We put our trust in Tiffany and Wag , both let us down !

Candy, we're so sorry to hear how everything unfolded—last-minute changes to your Caregiver and the disruption to a trip you'd planned so far in advance is not what any Pet Parent should experience. Wag services has been wonderful. I love using this. Makes me feel at ease when I’m working long hours knowing my fur baby is being taken care of with whatever service I need. Everyone I’ve used on here so far is very experienced and caring, I like that everyone is background checked as well. I will definitely keep using Wag!.
