Direct Express is the worst. Since I received this card I have not been able to get online. Only once to make my initial password and ID, after that I have never been able to get online again. Every time I need a transfer I literally have to go to my bank and have money transferred from this card to my bank because I cannot do it on the net. Their staff is rude and they hang up on you. So sorry I picked this card. Unfortunately to give this review I had to give it one star, but it doesn't deserve that.

As a senior citizen I learned about how the social security administration absuses us through their use of Direct Express, a company privatized & owned by Co-America bank to disperse my social security money. Money I paid into the system that Direct Express abundantly profits from. Despite this DE does not hire enough people to adequately service those who call for help. DE uses the most hellish phone mail systems to further stall us. DE is bereft of any service for their customers. Many times I have been on hold for over an hour then I needed to hang up as I could not continue on hold. This is a SOP of the most abusive kind practiced by DE. Nor does DE provide a viable email address for their customers, lagging behind in this MODERN business practice for helping customers. Last year I received the 1st stimulus payment. It came after some delay, finally directly deposited into my account. However, despite the ease provided of computers & the quickness of direst deposits as of this writing 4/23/21 I still have NOT received the 2nd or 3rd stimulus payments to my account. I was just told by someone in Sen. Jeff Merkley's office the IRS has until May 15, 2021 to complete these stimulus payments. The rep would not tell me what happens after 5/15/21 or when I am to receive the LONG OVERDUE 2nd stimulus payment. Nor would the rep address the issue of the complicity of DE, with their delay of dispersing monies. This more obscenity of the ease & criminality permitted to financial institutions to continue to cheat we hard working people, especially those of us who are retired & dependent on our meager social security. I am exhausted from these privileged criminals continuously supported by "our" government. It is wrong for our government to be in the service of elite privilged corporations rather than we hard working people who work hard & built this country with our efforts while the corporations get lazy fat & constantly enriched off of us.

I was on hold for and hour and thirteen minutes. I have never in my life been on hold that long. It was ridiculous and no reason for someone to be on hold that long

I qork as a service coordinator in PA. Direct Express put a hold on my clients card. The problem was on their end with a pin number. In trying to resolve this issue, we have been on hold (customer service) for an average of 2 hours. We are told no person has the ability to fix the problem and they refuse to let us speak to a supervisor. We have been hung up on several times. My client has been unalble to access his social security for 2 months. We changed card services but he continues to be unable to access his $1300 that Direct Express continues to hold. Social Security is unable to assist. DO NOT USE this fraudulant card company!!

I wouldn't even give it one star but I'm forced to. Anyone thinking about getting one don't, if you have a problem, which you will. Takes days sometime week's before you get through to customer service, then they are as clueless about questions or problems as a new born baby is.They are constantly in your business about transactions and putting blocks on the cards. This is goverment over reach and control at it's finest. This is absolutely the most garbage card I've ever had.

Three deposits and transfers are missing over $1000 I am contacting the federal trade commission and anybody else it is here to comment on and do that as well been on hold for over 45 minutes why does the federal government trust the poorest service in banking ever with our money call the federal trade at 1_8773824357 Federal trade call this has to be stoped

Directexpress froze my account on a new card that was never used without any reason. The woman that answered the phone had the nastiest attitude of anyone in customer service I have ever had to deal with. She told me she would transfer me to another department but instead started me over on the great adventure that is their automated phone service. You can not talk to a real person when you need to. I will deal with a bank from now on. I wish I would have recorded the call. The women was the most disrespectful, condescending and flat out lazy person I have ever called. Do yourself a favor and just use a bank. This company does nothing. The one time you need them they will let the phone ring for hrs and then answer in a rage when you don't give up after waiting forever. I felt like they she was mocking my disability and this person should be fired. Our government needs to cut ties with this company. It is a disgrace

This company is an absolute failure do yourself a favour get a real bank because whatever this is is worthless and a waste of time
