The MVMT RoomReviews of themvmtroom.com

I’ve recently turned 60 and have suffered with early onset osteoarthritis for the last 15 years, in part genetic. I am amazed at the progress I’ve made with Alex in the last almost 3 years. I was struggling to get upstairs, stand in the shower, jump and move around ably as I was in a lot of pain. I am now probably as fit as I was in my 30s and in some ways better as my core strength is stronger than it’s ever been. The progress has been unbelievable as too are the weights I can now lift! Alex is patient and extremely knowledgeable. I’m constantly learning and becoming more adept because of that which in turn increases the enjoyment of the gym sessions. I had trained with various coaches to quite a high-level in a variety of Sports and I have not found anyone as good as Alex is. Thank you Alex for all you’ve done for me to improve my life both mentally and physically

What is very special about this company is their collaborative practice between kinesiology/physiotherapy/massage therapy. The clinicians talk to each other about their plans for the clients and work towards a plan that is both safe and progressive for the parts of the body that are not working so well. They are open to outside information and client feedback, and are quite flexible about appointments. They are a model for the community in how professionals with different training can work together to create better outcomes for clients! They are also respectful of mask-wearing for people who ask, which was a very important factor in my decision to go to in-person services in their small but well-stocked facility. Furthermore, the exercise program can be done online, which is a great bonus.

I was really apprehensive approaching weight training, I’ve always had spine niggles which prevented me from sticking with any training programmes due to me getting injured. I’d seen various physical therapists with no joy & avoided exercise because of this. I started with some 1-1s with Alex, working through some breath work & mobility and worked up to joining group classes from last Summer. My body has never felt so good, I feel stronger, much more mobile & no longer have chronic pain. It sounds cliché, but true, it’s a real community. We have a LOT of laughs, share each other’s wins & have some fantastic socials. A huge THANK YOU to you all at The MVMT Room!

The team are supportive, knowledgeable, and patient. Exactly what's needed, if like myself, you are considering doing something outside of your comfort zone. The friendly and encouraging atmosphere here, along with the way the classes work, are just a few other things that make this place really, really great.

Great environment and excellent coaches with Alex, Sam and Tom. Their attitudes and focus on your needs as an individual is outstanding. Helping you improve but also ensuring you are learning the correct technique and helping sort out aches and pains where they can. Highly recommend the MVMT Room to anyone no matter where you are on your fitness journey.

The Mvmt rooms is honestly the best gym I’ve been part of. If you’re nervous about a gym setting or classes everyone will make you feel so at home and the trainers are super friendly and lovely. I’ve learnt a lot about my body and how it moves and my bad back is a thing of the past! I look forward to the classes each week.

Structured sessions, great content that really works and makes a difference to body shape, health and wellbeing. A fantastic community atmosphere and the gym is in a lovely setting.

Stumbled my way to see Sam the physio almost a year ago, then started dipping my toe into a few of the PAYG classes with Alex and now have been a fully fledged member for 4 months as well as continuing regular physio sessions & I LOVE IT! This place is great and have made so much progress since joining post-partum, in seriously bad shape and in need of rehab, to now - stronger than I’ve ever been. Both Sam and Alex that run it, as well as the rest of the team- are amazing are SO SO knowledgable. I’ve been going to gyms most of my adult life and I still learn something new every time I come to a class. The classes are fab, and a good selection of times, mixed abilities and importantly no egos! and a special mention for the mobility classes as there is nothing like them around here They really care about training the right way. The lads have built something special here at the mvmt rooms and I feel privileged to be part of their little community they’ve built, and would recommend them to anyone and everyone!
