Sur La TableReviews of surlatable.com

I would give 0 stars if I could. Email received for Black Friday Deals. No limitations listed other than 'sale 11/13 thru 11/16'. After some consideration decided to order item. Listed in ad for $399.96. On Saturday cart price was $599.96. On Sunday it was $699.96. Talk about false advertising. Customer service was a joke!! Lost a long-time loyal customer today.

This was my first time ordering with this company. On the order it said my item would be shipped within 7-10 days and if there were any delays I’d be notified. I placed my order Oct 3rd. I reached out via email on the status of my order Oct 20 since there were no emails regarding the delay. They said it should ship within the end of the week by the vendor. I still didn’t get any updates. Sur la table doesn’t even know exactly what’s going on with their inventory?? Very unreliable. I called customer service and she too didn’t know what to tell me. I asked her to cancel and she told me she couldn’t cancel and that I could always return it if I didn’t want it. That didn’t make sense to me. Why should I wait for an item that doesn’t even have a delivery date?? So she said she’d be emailing management to cancel but could take up to a few days to see if they can go through with it. Ok understandable but why did I need to further explain my frustration for her to go ahead and a process a cancellation?? I tried calling again because she didn’t seem reliable, this time a gentleman was very straight to the point unlike the other rep. He too said he needed to contact management to see if they can cancel. Few days later I get an email of the cancellation. A few days after that they sent an apology email and since they were “sincerely” apologetic they gave me a coupon code for $20 if I spend over $100. And guess what it had restrictions and an expiry date of one month lol. Poor customer service and an outdated way of handling issues. Seems backwards in today’s standards of business. No thanks. I’m never ordering from here again.

Horrible....BEWARE! Once a great store. Now that they are bankrupt, have closed half their stores, and are looking to sell the remaining stores, they are now pretty sleazy. They won’t even swap out a defective item.....much less give you a refund or credit.... so don’t expect them to be around next week or next month if you want to return an item or it breaks or is defective. Also there sales staff in our local store is very snotty and antagonistic.....perhaps due to election outcome, but nonetheless, there’s no reason for being rude to customers......so so sad to water the demise of this company.

When I called to check on my order as I received 1 item however the 2nd item looked like it was cancelled online. the customer service was absolutely horrible. The sales rep was rude and not accommodating at all! I should have ordered the same item on Amazon.

Be very careful of this site. They have "fake sales". Most of their "regular" prices are greatly inflated; for example they show a Breville counter-top oven for over $700 as the regular price but it is offered everywhere, including Breville's site, for $395. Their "Cookware Event" sale prices are the same prices they've had for months. And on their home page today they said, "Today only - All cookware ships free" BUT they will not honor this. I called and they said it was a mistake!!! Yet it is still on their site. BUYER BEWARE. Do your homework.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered an ice cream machine from them on July 21, 2020. It was expected to ship in 2 weeks at the most. After two weeks I called to check the status. It took 45 minutes of being on hold to get in contact with someone. They said it would ship in a few days. It did not. I emailed, never a reply. I called again, waited another 45 minutes and again was told it would ship within a week. No package still. I called for the THIRD time, waited 45 minutes and had to strongly ask for a direct email from an employee so I didn’t have to wait on the phone again. I asked how I could just cancel the order and her advice was to follow the link once it ships to have it returned to sender. I emailed and asked for the order to be canceled, never a reply. Today is October 30, 2020 and I just got a SHIPPING NOTIFICATION for the item I ordered three months ago and tried to cancel. Now I have to attempt to return the item to sender and see how long it takes for that to actually happen. I never comment on these types of encounters, but this was so exceptionally awful I had to. Honestly, ordering with Sur La Table is not worth whatever you think you’ll save with some coupon there. Go elsewhere, please!

I ordered a lasagna pan back in May 2020, had not received it by June and emailed the customer service department. They said the item was shipped and they charged my credit card. Fast forward to October 2020, I called customer service, having nearly forgot about this item, and talked to a representative. After 20 minutes on the phone, she said that they were having issues with this vendor (Staub) and that she refunded me my purchase price. My question - When were you going to tell me that it wasn't coming? How long were you going to keep my $? This is criminal. Disgusting.

I ordered an item. I was told it could take 14 days to ship. When I called to see if there was an update,I was told that it would be in my possession within the 14 days.... LIE BIG FAT LIE When I confronted them on that alone... no response The so called supervisor of customer service was a JOKE He kept coming up with excuses that didn’t even make sense. I had to bringing him back into the conversation because he kept talking about something else. My favorite customer service person kept deep sighs as she was talking to me like I was bothering her with my questions. Do not shop this store! Do not give them your business! I’m really not surprised because they keep closing their stores.......
