I have had a good experience with sitters but the customer service of Rover isn't great and the site and app are frustrating and difficult to navigate.

I booked two separate Rover doggie daycares the first one was great she was good with dogs but was inconsistent and had to cancel on me for the whole upcoming week because she had to go out of town and I had to get a refund and then booked with somebody else who was also great butwatched my dog for 2 days and then canceled the last 3 days because their child got sick which I totally understand so I got a refund for that too but the company is great and I would have gave it five stars but just the inconsistency of it and having to scramble around and find more people to watch your dog and people don't respond when you message them there's a lot of people on there that are not very communicative and people charging $50 a day that's $1,000 a month to watch a dog let's get serious that's too much 25 and 30 I can see but $50 come on and so I ultimately just found a doggie daycare business to take him to everyday that way I never have to worry about someone canceling.

Our pet sitter is Angella and we love her. The issue I have is communication with you. I want to ask questions and that is impossible.

I feel like the company never checks on the sitter. What qualifies them? Should have for sitter and dogs owners. I was shocked when we picked the up. They acting very depressed. No tail waging, no reaction to seeing us. Then I noticed a raw area on the male dog. max. His hair was gone and a very obvious raw area. I questioned the sitter. She stated he was rubbing his head. She checked it and seem to her ok. Well once I was able to look at them, I could see fleas on both dogs. I very bad case. Prior to the sitting, we had them both groomed. There were fine. They never had fleas. It took all most 5 days before they made eye contact. A week before they played.

The rover person did a great job, your pricing is bit high.

I like that there were so many options but I’m not sure if the candidates are really safe. They should be required to send updates.

My dog sitter was excellent, and I would recommend her to anybody after a recent booking and daycare stay, but in the circumstance that I have had to cancel an upcoming trip and hence my dog sitting appt., I find no excuse to have a 5-10 day wait for an electronic refund from Rover.com, especially when I am expected to pay in full immediately when booking a reservation several months in advance. I was rather surprised at that policy to begin with. Hotels, car rentals etc. have a "pay when you stay" policy which is much more conventional.

The first person I contracted with for our September trip cancelled on me 10 days before my trip - because I don't lock my house when I'm here. I told her she could lock all the doors. Then she got upset because we don't lock the garage we share with upstairs tenants. And because in the summer we rent a section of our house through Airbnb and she didn't want those people waking in and out. I assured her there would be no reservations while she was here. I reported her odd behavior after she cancelled. I was told that because she cancelled within the legal cancellation period there was nothing they could do. If that was the end of it - you would only get 1*. But in desperation I made a contract with another Rover sitter who was brilliant. I think Rover should have some way to weed out inappropriate folk...
