The app is so hard to use and even the website, not user friendly, but I did find a really good sitter that I use repeatedly. She's amazing.

Booking a boarding stay on Rover can be a lengthy process as many of the sitters/boarders do not keep their calendars up to date. This means a lot of wasted time exchanging with people who then inform you that they are not available. Most people are quite nice and do like animals, but some are clearly in it for the money and have poor hygiene when it comes to providing a clean location for your pet, and other use cages/crates to keep dogs separated, which really goes against the idea of finding a home for your pet while your away (might as well go to local kennel). Overall I've had a good experience, but it took time to find the right person.

I want to like them, I really do. But so many sitters are unresponsive. I've given up hope. Good idea, poor execution.

I reached out to three different sitters who all showed available. Two never got back to me and one said he was actually booked. Was hoping for a better experience. Potential is there.

Failed to adequately provide information on fee structure and "add ons". Fee quoted on sitters page increased by $6 from quote on sitters site when I actually booked. I expect Rover take a percentage of the sitter's daily fee -- which they do -- but I was surprised that when I booked through Rover that they added an add'l $15.05 fee on top of the $43/per day fee I was paying. This additional "Rover" fee was not mentioned on their website or on the sitters profile site. Even my sitter wasn't aware that that this additional "add on" fee was being imposed and was surprised that they had increased his $37/per day quoted fee on his profile to $43/per day when I booked. Completely unexpected. They need to be more forthcoming in their marketing materials and with their fee structures. Misleading
