RoGallery is a unique force in the art world. We have been an art gallery, dealer, and auction house of over 35 years located in the vibrant Queens neighborhood of Long Island City in NYC. In this time, RoGallery has established its place in the New York City art world as a trustworthy and reputable source of modern and contemporary artworks. The gallery was founded in the early 1980's by Robert and Gail Rogal, who would become an art world power couple. They established themselves initially as limited edition print dealers by buying out the entire inventories of several major art publishing companies. Over the years their keen eye for superb artworks has expanded the collection to include thousands of original paintings, photographs and sculptures. The passion for collecting is still going strong today as we grow the RoGallery collection through purchases and quality consignments.Customers that are within driving distance or visiting New York City are encouraged to visit us at our 10,000 square foot gallery showroom. The gallery is by appointment only. Hours are Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm ET. Please let us know in advance of your visit what artworks you would like to see. Most items are onsite, but some need to be transferred to our location for viewing.

The item sent was a bit surprising in that it was not the 'poster' I expected, but the poster was bonded to a thick foam backing (not great for the frame I had ready) and it has big black sharpie marking on the back noting the place I assume it came from (some fundraiser?) Also, the poster had a visual small white nick/tear in the middle/lower left side of it that was not visual on the website, or in the description. Otherwise I was sent the poster I ordered and the care and packaging was beautiful.

Smells so bad can’t keep it in the house. Emailed but no reply. Other than that it was fine.

I wish there had been explanation of what series Lawrence was doing in some of his prints and better referencing regarding his works

They would not respond to messages sent before the online auction regarding the condition a painting I was interested in. Finally I called them and the girl I spoke to was very nice said they actually didn't have the painting in their possession but were just sent photos of it from the owner. So they didn't really know the condition but felt all his items that were being auctioned were in very good condition. I bid on the painting and won it and when received it was very impressed with the packing job they did. It was boxed within another box and plenty of foam packing in between the two boxes. The painting did have some cracking and small pieces of paint chips missing in certain areas but this can really only be seen when up close...so overall I am happy with the painting and the packing job but not happy with the no response when I messaged them before the auction.

Ended up with one item that I don't remember bidding on, but how are you going to argue a point like that.

Loved the variety of artists and work. Personally, I found the “reserve” or starting bid prices too high. For example I own three signed lithos in beautiful, condition, one framed, by Labadong which I got at auction for $50/each-starting bid for one on Ro was $300. Noone bid. So my recomendation is lower the reserve if possible and you may get more sales rather than passed. David Bourns
