Hi Thomas, It's clear from your review that you had a frustrating experience with your Road Shower. We hope you will give the product another try as some of the issues you experienced are addressed in the manual, and others can be fixed with a bit of troubleshooting here, as well as via phone or email at [email protected] as needed. The bolts used are stainless steel and without lubrication or if threaded in a misaligned fashion they will seize or become stuck. The one you mentioned can be cut and a new one can be installed, but be sure to lubricate the bolt prior to installation. Here are the nut and bolt specs: 5/16-18 x 1 1/2″ Carriage Bolt, 18-8 Stainless Steel for the short bolts, 5/16-18 x 2.5″ Carriage Bolt, 18-8 Stainless Steel for the long bolts, 5/16-18 Nylon Insert Lock Nut, 18-8 Stainless Steel. It would help to know how you filled your shower. it sounds like you may have used the hose to hose method. It's a good one for quick trips, but not best for maximizing water capacity or pressure. If you ever end up running out of pressure and not having another method of pressurizing, you can unscrew the fill cap all the way and gravity feed the remaining water. This can be good for washing hands or filling a tub for dishes, but is obviously less powerful. Additionally it would help to know how you had your shower oriented. It will warm in the air, but not as quickly if it is parked in the shade or facing away from the sun. It's difficult to believe that a Road Shower parked in full sun at 92F would remain at 72F, unless the water added to the unit was near freezing to start. We genuinely hope a reading of the manual, the tips above, and any further discussion needed will help you find enjoyment of and an appreciation for our products which have been engineered to last for years.

We are sorry your purchase did not work out. 1) We don't advertise that the RS will fit on any particular vehicle as each one is different. 2) We do try to advise our customers about mounting options, but when we are not sure, we will try to refer them to shops that specialize in these things, such as rack shops, or in your case to a Westy dealer like GoWesty or Rocky Mountain Westies. 3) We know of hundreds of Westy owners that mount the RS to their Westies. Understood that you did not have the ability to mount on top. However both GoWesty and Rock Mountain Westy make a custom Westy bracket for the gutter on the side of the van for Road Showers. I am wondering if you knew that or tried either of those brackets? 4) If the Road Shower is not going to work out for any reason, we will take it back. Did you contact our Customer Service team at 505-231-1108? If we don't know of the problem, we can't help solve it.

What we learned from our experience working with you is that when someone requests to purchase in a hurry without following the standard protocol, it's best not to allow it. Your shipping cost was exactly as quoted. You're the one who placed the order. We had no control over the exchange rate on the day we credited you for making purchases without the appropriate coupon codes. For the box damage we do sincerely apologize. Road Shower is always looking to improve, and packaging is our focus right now.
