The technician at Quest kept insisting that I needed a doctor's order for my test and that it was impossible for me to order personally via the internet. She initially rejected the printout of my order number as being meaningless (although of course, I was in their electronic system since it allowed me to check in for the appointment). Only after she asked her supervisor for help was she able to complete the lab test. All parties were pleasant and eventually helpful, but it was somewhat disturbing at the time. This is clearly an issue with training at your contract labs.

Although we are a separate company, we entrust Quest Diagnostics to fulfill our lab orders quickly and professionally. Any instance where there is a question about how our patients are received at the collection site, we notify the appropriate administrators at Quest so corrective action can be taken.
