Customer service speak not nice. In the afternoon by yelling not professional

After purchasing a new furnace, the wrong part was ordered resulting in a week with no heat during a subzero period this past winter. Then when the thermostat for my new AC unit wasn’t working, the wrong thermostat was installed. I lost a little bit of confidence after that.

The oil pricing from last winter 2025 was extremely high and way out of my budget range. I do have a capped plan with Petro Oil, but I feel I was a victim of price gouging when I needed an oil refill to the tune of $1192. Additionally, the refill was completed by Alliance Oil. ??? I don't understand that. If I'm a Petro customer, why was Alliance refilling my oil tank? In addition, I am still paying for the oil from last winter. I'm almost finished with the payment arrangements. I am very dissatisfied and I am presently looking for another oil company that starts with a payment plan. I know that our economy is horrible right now because of dumb dumb Trump, but I'm still dissatisfied with Petro Oil service.

I had a routine service performed approximately 1 week prior to the issues that developed after that. So apparently, the routine service tech didn’t secure the bolts snugly that lead to the new filter that they installed which lead to an oil leak. Luckily, I have a service, maintenance contract and, once the leak was discovered, I was able to contact Petro and have a service person come to the home that evening. That tech changed out the line and ‘secured’ the connection of the filter. In the process of changing the line, the technician splashed oil on my water heater when the old line was cut, and made his best effort to clean it up with a spray cleanser. The next morning, I woke up to find that there was still oil leaking at that connection and that now my water heater pilot was out!!! I had to make another call to service, since now I was without heat and hot water ( a real hardship since I have an Airbnb and my guests are being impacted) and had to make another service call to get this resolved!! The women at the call center were professional and really helped me hold it together. Michael, #173, was determined to redeem himself and retightened the connections at the filter and restarted my water heater. Not happy to have to recount this tale as it is all the result of a botched annual, routine maintenance call, but relieved that it wasn’t so, so much worse. You should consider having a specific oil leak hot line!! I waited almost 20 min on hold to speak with someone to report the leak and they never gave me any advice in the way of immediate action in response to this. Like turn off the heat, turn off any cut-off valves in or around the leak. I did that on my own. Work to be done!!

The agent answered the question but said he isn't a technical guy. We will ask the tech when they come for service.

The technician showed up the last possible time, we were told 12-4 and at 4 the bell rang. He spent a about a 1/2 hour and out he went. We'll see if the heat holds. I have been a long time customer of Petro and every year I feel the service and quality of the service has dropped. Even the one time phone calls are no longer. Hopefuly they straighten out the service.

I am not sure what experience you are referring to, I had oil delivered recently but no service. The cost of oil was the highest I ever paid for home heating oil.
