A Disappointing Experience with Pella Windows In May, I ordered an awning window through Pella Windows representative Mike Lynch. I specifically wanted a window that would open to approximately 90 degrees. I approved a quote for an awning window with “No Limited Opening Hardware,” expecting the window to open fully. Unfortunately, the window I received only opens a few inches. Mike Lynch acknowledged that the window was not what I ordered and confirmed that the mistake was on Pella’s end. After numerous phone calls and emails with Mike and Pella customer service, I tried to find a reasonable solution. Eventually, I was so frustrated with the process that I agreed to a $500 refund just to put the matter behind me. That amount was nowhere near the cost of the incorrect window, but I accepted it in good faith. Weeks passed, and the refund never arrived. I continued reaching out to Mike, Stephanie in Pella’s customer service department, and Marty, a Pella manager. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve this, I still have not received the promised refund. I am now left with a window I never ordered, one that does not meet my needs, and no compensation despite Pella acknowledging its mistake and agreeing to a refund. The most disappointing part of this experience is not just receiving the wrong product, but the lack of follow-through and accountability afterward. Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend that prospective customers think carefully before doing business with Pella Windows. I expected a quality product and professional customer service. Instead, I have spent months trying to resolve a problem that should never have happened in the first place.

Our experience with Pella has been extremely disappointing. While we were pleased with the initial sales process, the installation and customer service have been unacceptable, particularly given the premium price we paid and the delivery date we were promised. The installation crew did a great job with the work they were able to complete. Unfortunately, they arrived without two large windows intended for the front of our house. After two days, the crew had to leave the job unfinished because the windows were missing. We were told there had been a shipping issue and that the windows would arrive in approximately two weeks. In the meantime, our house has been left torn apart, and we cannot put everything back together until the installation is complete. We expected the crew to return on Friday, only to learn that just one of the missing windows is ready and the other will not arrive until December 28. We were also informed that a damaged screen would take another month to replace. What was supposed to be a two-day installation has now turned into four separate installation visits spread over four months. Each visit requires us to take time off work, creating additional disruption and inconvenience. Perhaps the most frustrating part has been the complete lack of communication and accountability. The project manager has failed to answer calls or return messages and has provided no satisfactory explanation or meaningful assistance. We even visited the showroom in the hope that someone could help resolve the situation, but they were unable to offer any assistance. Once you sign the contract, it seems the local representatives can do very little to help, while the person responsible for managing the project is unresponsive. Pella has offered neither a satisfactory explanation nor a practical solution to the problems we have encountered. We paid a premium price with the expectation of professional service, reliable scheduling, and a completed installation on the promised timeline. Pella has failed to deliver on those expectations. The quality of the installation work completed so far does not make up for the missing windows, damaged screen, repeated scheduling disruptions, and lack of customer support. Based on this experience, I would have a very difficult time recommending Pella. A company charging premium prices should be accountable when things go wrong, communicate proactively, and make a genuine effort to resolve problems for its customers. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.

First of all I had to put one star to get started they r not worth the star down right pitiful I have bought pella for years as I remodel houses and have a few but Pella doesn’t stand behind there warranty so I would recommend different than pella I have a window 6 year old in a house I’ve been working on and still not finished yet so not even lived in and the window is literally falling apart and warping and all Pella wants to do is change me to come look at it or charge for video and still said I’d have to pay I’ve bought at least 200 Pella Windows and not ever again so be warned Pella is a ripoff buy different not Pella

Been getting the run around on a door replacement..Pella decided they couldnt fix it even though everyone else confirms it is definitely a defect. So they use the word vintage to get out of replacing the door. What a terrible tactic! Stay far away from these guys

I scheduled an in-home appointment with Pella’s local office that services the Chantilly, Virginia area for measurements and a quote on a straightforward door replacement. The representative, knew this was my first time pricing a door and reviewed the available options. When representative asked about my preferred installation date, I said within two weeks or as soon as possible. He advised that Pella’s standard lead time was 10 to 12 weeks. Despite the delay, I requested a quote because the rest of my project schedule was not final. The representative refused to provide a quote unless I first committed to waiting approximately three months. I explained that I needed the quote to evaluate my options, but he replied that he did not want to waste time. I told him that he had wasted my time and I told him we were done. I escorted him out. This was the worst experience I have had with a vendor or contractor in my home. I received no quote, was treated as though my time had less value than the representative’s, and must now restart my search. Pella should review this incident and take corrective action regarding its in-home customer-service standards. Pella's reputation depends not only on its product quality and installation service, but also on the professionalism and respect its representatives show prospective customers.

I had several windows and a double sliding patio door installed 15 years ago. No complaints on the windows or patio door. Excellent patio door. After 15 years the rubber bug shield deteriorated over time and bee’s and bugs can sneak through the deteriorating holes. Just want to replace that at my cost and understand how that can go bad in south sun. Had absolutely no help in trying to get this resolved. Finally was informed I could get a new one for $150-200 and $75 shipping to a pella office 2 hours away even though a store is two miles from my house. Looks like Home Depot will have a possible solution for about $10.00. Prefer pella oem product. Have a two year renovation at my lake home in northern Wisconsin and will not have pella windows.. god forbid a grand kid accidentally damages a window and can’t get it repaired.

Not competent!!! Couldn't be more DISAPPOINTED! SHIPPED ME A BLACK 14' (4) PANEL DOOR w/ A WHITE HANDLE!!!! Many MONTHS, emails & texts later I still can't get a black handle that should be a stock item. Seriously? Substitute any black handle at this point that is same or better quality. If you can't stand behind a handle you shipped me incorrectly, what kind of service am I looking at if I experience a major issue? My job went from start to finish and no black handle 🤬 We dismissed the delays, this is inexcusable. SHAME ON YOU PELLA!!!! Ordered in Boylston, MA

We ordered multiple sliding doors and windows and a French door from Pella, relying on measurements taken during an in-home visit by a Pella representative. Unfortunately, our five-foot French-door opening was specified for a six-foot door, which is what was ultimately delivered. Although we worked with Pella to try to resolve the problem, we were unable to reach a satisfactory resolution and must now purchase the correctly sized door from another supplier. Pella was ultimately unresponsive. We had hoped for a more accommodating response to what began with Pella’s erroneous measurement.
