Hi Stephanie, thank you for your feedback on SinusKEY! We're glad the test itself has been a positive experience! Great question on the swabbing. The swab included with SinusKEY is designed specifically for the blow-out method, which collects mucus from the tissue. It's not intended for collecting mucus directly from the sinuses. Sinus collection would require a different swab and should only be performed by a healthcare provider to avoid injury. The blow-out method has been reviewed and approved by medical professionals both inside and outside of MicroGenDX before use and is preferred for patient comfort. Negative results may occur when a sample is not viable, or there is nothing to report back.
