Great advertising, pretty though mediocre quality knives, shipped from China (I think) and laughable customer service. Really, folks, if you want a quality knife, go with a proven brand that has enough confidence in their product to actually put their name and country of origin on the knife itself.

The knives themselves (and deal!) are amazing quality and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the product again. The postage however was a massive let down. Such a shame for such an amazing product. I purchased these under the impression they were would be here within the time frame of Father’s Day, and I had ordered them in advance, didn’t arrive until about 2 weeks after. That was disappointing.

The knives are really solid, good quality. However, the order I initially made was supposed to have the Odin Cleaver and somehow I ended up with the Odin chef 6". The ordering process for sets is a bit glitchy. Contacted customer service to see about making changes to my order before it shipped, but there wasn't adequate attention to detail in the responses I received. I did recieve an order about 7 business days after i made it, so good there on Northern's order fulfillment and shipping processes. Unfortunately, I have been trying to contact customer service about making a partial exchange and refund of the knives/sheaths, but no response in over a week. Doesn't seem that Northern has enough administrative capacity.

Getting the Odin chef instead of the Cleaver, then waiting over a week for an answer on the exchange — that's not the service we want to run. Try cutting a watermelon with 7.1 blade would not cut into had to force it in Did not understand

Hi Robert — thanks for the honest feedback, and sorry the watermelon put up a fight. A properly honed edge should glide through, so something's off — blades can lose their factory edge in transit, and a quick hone usually brings it right back. I am happy with the knives i purchased. I received my first knife timely as was stated ,but i didn’t get my free knife until two emails to customer support. I order the first part of November and didn’t receive my second knife until this week in January. I didn’t get to cut up Christmas dinner or New Years munchies. I am disappointed in the receiving part of my knife’s but I am very pleased with the knife’s I received. Beautiful knives, nice weight, very well made, and very sharp edge.

I ordered 6 knives as Christmas gifts and per the website, they were supposed to arrive by Christmas. They did not. I emailed multiple times to check on them and communication from Customer service was slow and frequently required repeated emails. Customer service is trying to fix the issue and I appreciate that they are trying. Once the knives arrived they were sharp and as pictured on the website. For an overall rating, the product is great so far but they need improvement on shipping and customer communication times. I would order again but with the knowledge it may not arrive when it says it will.

First, I was in the promotion period to order 1 knife and get a free Ragnar butcher knife free which I ordered on Dec.11th. I had reached out to customer service a few days before Christmas fearing it wouldn't deliver because it was a Christmas present and verifying on the free knife. Well it was nice that it delivered on Dec.23rd but my free Ragnar knife was not included and I repeatedly contacted the company but now they want a picture of the knife I received, it was a Christmas gift! I am very disappointed in this whole process. There has been no response from customer service after my second attempt to contact them . The only reason I am giving this review a 3 is because the gift was well liked and they are beautiful knives.

The issue you experienced occurred during the holiday season and an exceptional surge in demand, which unfortunately led to some promotional items being missed during packing. You should not have to repeatedly follow up or provide unnecessary proof for a promotion you were clearly eligible for. Our customer service team will either resend the missing Ragnar butcher knife or issue a refund for it, depending on your preference. I was very unhappy with how my Knife arrived. It came in a plastic shipping bag. The box the knife came in was beat up, corners bent on it. This was for a gift. The knife cover I ordered was just in a piece of plastic. I would think that this company would care about how their product shows up to the customer. First impressions are important. I would expect this if I bought a cheap knife. I recommend you package the knifes better so the box is not being tossed around in a bag during delivery process.
