LennarReviews of lennar.com

My loan officer was great. Everything else about my experience with Lennar was abysmal. They lied/withheld information until long after they had my earnest money. They waited until after I paid $600 for a third party inspection to say that on top of the down payment, they wanted 2 months worth of mortgage in my bank account, which somehow totaled $17,000 dollars?? The mortgage was going to be less than $2,000, so I have no idea where the $17,000 figure came from. I was told when I applied that all they would need is 30 days of paystubs from my new job after I moved. Then, after I sent weeks gathering all the random paperwork they wanted and stressing over that, less than two weeks from our closing date, they hit me with the "yeah, you need $17,000 in your account on top of the $10,000 you need for the down payment." I am not rich, my family is not rich. I have a good paying job, but it would take at least 4 months of paychecks to total $17,000 IF I didn't have bills like rent of my current residence, car payment, health insurance, etc. How was I supposed to come up with $17,000 in less than two weeks? Who can?? And this was the second home I was under contract with them for. They did paperwork and math incorrectly for the first, and recanted on the approval they had already given me. On top of that, the brand new home I was purchasing had five pages of things that failed the inspection and would have to be fixed prior to sale. So, not only was my experience with every aside from my loan officer abysmal, the house was not even going to be able to be approved for a loan as is. I have absolutely nothing good to say about Lennar. I would leave 0 stars if I could. The only positive I had was my loan officer, who is fighting the team to get my earnest money I paid them already back because they were purposefully misleading. Do not work with them. Do not trust them. They are incredibly misleading and provide all sorts of false information. They cannot be trusted. Do not allow them to run your credit or take your money. They are not worth the risk. If you have literally any other options than Lennar, take them instead. This company has been nothing but frustrating from the start, and their brand new homes aren't even sound. Save yourself the time, trouble, and frustration and find someone else. Their "good rates" and "bonuses" are not worth it, nor are they true. You are better off avoiding them entirely.

I'm in CA bought their new construction home in Katy, TX. From the beginning, I informed them that Mobile Closing, and I chose "unable to attend closing" in the LennarTrack portal two weeks before Closing. Title dept set up in-person Closing, which failed. Then it has to move on the next day, which will fall into a new month of April 2025. Then the Sale Rep told me 2% fee ($4800 extra)of the sale price. to keep the house, otherwise the contract will be canceled and I will lose the deposit monies. It wasn't my fault. It was a lack of communication between the Sales Rep and the Title Dept. It was a trap, so beware of in-person or mobile closing. Now I'm going to pursue my right to get the fee $4800 back

Do not buy Lennar! From debri in sewers, rolling carpet after 2 months, not properly installed. Flooring improperly installed, cheap materials!!! Windows and doors that don’t close or lock properly. Defects in every inside door of the house! Glass Shower doors that fall off and pose a safety hazard…and now after only 3 years a leak in my roof! DO NOT BUY! Also, do not complain to them before your warranty is up and expect anything fixed…well not actually fixed. They will send someone under qualified to fix the issue and they will have to come back repeatedly and the job will never be done right and then poof!!! Your warranty is done and you are taking it in your pocket! DO NOT BUY! And do not file a complaint with the builders assc with the state because they will send the person from their board and he will basically come tell you never to do that again and promise fixes that NEVER HAPPEN! It’s no wonder they had a class action lawsuit in 2018. Buyer BEWARE!!!

We love Rocking K. The nature-friendly design of the neighborhood, the community events, the welcoming neighbors and its strong sense of connection make this a place worth fighting for. Unfortunately, our experience with Lennar has overshadowed what should have been an exciting next step for us for us as new homeowners. While we expected the typical challenges that come with buying a new home, what we encountered went far beyond that. From the outset, their salesperson heavily promoted the "buydown" program, but it seems Lennar attempted to shift these costs onto us, until we caught the discrepancy in the contract. Intentional or not, it was concerning. They also failed to disclose important information about access to mail. Only after signing the contract did we learn, through an evasive addendum, that we would need to travel nearly an hour round-trip for over three months just to pick up our mail. Based on our interactions, their construction practices reflect a pattern of mismanagement and poor quality. To name a few we have experienced: A water leak from both the roof and a window - it caused water damage to our bedroom which required an emergency crew to arrive in the middle of the night. They spent most of the day removing sections of the ceiling, walls, carpet, and insulation. Weeks later, repairs are still ongoing. Lennar was made aware of early warning signs, first with a water-damaged baseboard months ago, which should have prompted further investigation, then later with peeling paint around the window seal. Instead of addressing these issues, they overlooked them until water was activiely pouring into our home. Uneven flooring near the stairs on the second floor - required invasive repairs that are still ongoing. For both this issue and the water damage repairs, we have had to repeatedly move furniture to accommodate the work. Improperly installed irrigation lines - leading to multiple rounds of dead plants, ultimately requiring us to make the repairs ourselves after repeated failed fixes. Substantial amounts of buried construction debris - including nails, screws, plastic, bricks, 2x4s, sharp sheet metal, and chicken wire, and estimated 100 lbs.+ - a heartbreaking realization as this means we cannot comfortably allow our son to play in the dirt. Beyond being hazardous, this level of buried debris raises serious environmental concerns. As these materials degrade, they can potentially leach harmful chemicals into the soil and water, impacting both our property and the surrounding area. Debris continues to be discarded in our front yard, even after prior claim submissions and cleanups. Improper installation of a sink and faucet, causing water to seep into the cabinetry below, and an improperly installed toilet. Repair crews have left rather impressive amounts of sawdust, footprints, and handprints throughout our home, along with unfinished work. Repeated poor quality work and lack of follow-through - Simple jobs that should have been completed correctly the first time have instead required multiple visits, additional repairs, and extensive oversight and follow through on our part. The mortgage approval process was equally challenging. Lennar’s team overlooked submitted documents, requested the same information multiple times, and failed to remove outdated versions, making it extremely difficult to navigate their online portal. More concerning, they overlooked key financial details that could have impacted our loan eligibility and later attempted to modify the agreed-upon loan terms. Due to these issues, we escalated the matter to the Arizona Attorney General’s office to ensure ethical practices were being followed. Perhaps the most alarming issue was the invasive connection Lennar appeared to maintain with our bank accounts. Hidden in the fine print of their overwhelming paperwork, contract signees may unknowingly authorize Lennar to retain access to personal financial data. Despite opting out of their “data sharing” policy, we later discovered, more than a month after closing, that Lennar Mortgage was still linked to our bank account. This raises serious privacy and financial security concerns. These are not minor inconveniences. These failures have directly impacted our time, our business, and our family. We had hoped for a resolution through constructive dialogue, but given the severity and persistence of these issues, we are left with no choice but to share our experience publicly in the hope that future homeowners can make fully informed decisions. We hope Lennar takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements for future homeowners.

I purchased a "NextGen" home for which they promote as "2 seperated living units under one roof". Wow, like a 4 plex, 8 plex, 24 plex etc which are all under one roof. Lennar did not seperate the electrical for each unit, even though they each have a seperate AC, and full kitchens. This is bad for the Landlords when renting. Lennar also did not provide mailboxs for the second units of the NextGens and not having seperate addresses for the NextGens. One of the tenants will need to find an offsite mailbox, totally screwing the Owners who want to rent the units out. Shame on Lennar.

You people are a JOKE!  I have bought homes in Towne Lake, Cypress, TX built by both Trendmaker and Coventry.  My approval and financing were seamless with great ease!  I try and purchase through Lennar and your finance person, Michelle, and it was one roadblock and request after another.  My financial position is extraordinary considering my purchase interest with you.  I could purchase the home of interest with cash and Michelle gave us the runaround and consistently pestered us with ridiculous requests.  My credit was dinged with a hard inquiry, we spent $250 in document preparation and finally gave up due to one onerous request after another.  This is just the beginning of my tirade with Lennar.  I will seek every legitimate avenue to trash your firm available.  In my 45 years of home ownership, I have never experienced such an abysmal exercise through your representative and firm.  Just the beginning!

I bought a home with Lennar in August of 2022- New Build. Since moving in, we have realized what a horrendous job they did building our home. Our walls are crooked, our roof is leaking, we’ve had MANY issues with the company, and each time we reach out they take forever to get back to us and argue on helping resolve the issues. This is a brand new home, the issues I am currently having with my house shouldn’t be happening - and no, this is not from the house “settling”. Our roof is 2 years old… it should NOT be leaking. If their employees did their job correctly this would not be happening. I use to absolutely love and adore Lennar homes, now I would not recommend these homes to ANYONE.

We purchased our home in May 2024. When I say NIGHTMARE!!! I mean exactly that!!! Our warranty rep Deanna has been great😊 however that has been the only good thing we can see. Lennar Home Builders use trades that do care about their workmanship. We have 111 defects where they basically is taking the home apart and redoing, repairing and replacing things. What is most disturbing is everything that they have repaired!! Still was a defect on the inspection report 😡 this builder has been in and out our home since July 2024 and we still are no closer to this house becoming a home! Every time we think it fixed the repairs fail and something else falls apart. I have had to use sick days and my pto days with no Compensation for Their screw up !!! We could not enjoy the house , Thanksgiving now Christmas 🥲 We haven’t even unpacked all of our things because of this nightmare. The house is truly a lemon house and you should be very careful before going with Lennar as your builder. What was suppose to be the best moments of our lives has turned into a nightmare Here is only 2% of an example of the work. EVERYTHING THEY FIX OR REPAIR ALWAYS HAS TO BE REDONE MORE THAN 3 times and it still is not fixed until this day 12/2024 . I am located in Maricopa AZ I advise YOU TO RUN FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A PEACE OF MIND
