We had a fantastic experience working with Tan at Investment Watches. From our first visit, he was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. There was never any pressure to buy. He gave us plenty of time to look at different watches, answered our questions, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and personal. My husband had been looking for a very specific Rolex Sky-Dweller with the blue dial and Jubilee bracelet, and Tan helped us find exactly the right one. The entire transaction was seamless, and we could not have been happier with the watch or the experience. What really sets Tan apart is that he approaches the relationship as more than a single transaction. Since our purchase, I’ve talked with him about other watches we’re interested in, including a fairly difficult-to-find reference, and he has been just as helpful and responsive even when there wasn’t an immediate sale to be made. He genuinely seems interested in helping his clients find the right watches. After spending time navigating the AD world, it is incredibly refreshing to work with someone we trust who can help source the watches we actually want. Having Investment Watches here in Austin is such a great resource for collectors, and having Tan as someone we can call when we’re looking for a particular watch makes it even better. We will absolutely work with Tan again and would recommend him without hesitation.

I had texted with Will, and he happened to be who greeted me as I came in to check out a pre-owned watch from their website. It was my first visit there, and being greeted by a serious, armed security guard was a bit intimidating, and I admit I haven’t been to another watch shop that looks like this one. I didn’t walk around and explore, but while it was very clean, classy, and warm inside, it felt more like an office, which was a little confusing (or refreshing, I can’t tell). Will was kind, though he admitted they were very busy, and I didn’t get much of his time. It felt more professionally transactional than I was used to, and I left after what seemed like a brief whirlwind. Would definitely go back and shop there again, but none of it was what I had expected.

From the moment I walked in, Tan made the entire experience enjoyable. He let me take my time, try on several different models, and really figure out what I wanted. There was never any pressure or pushy sales tactics—he genuinely wanted to help me find the right watch. By the end of the process, he found exactly what I was looking for and made me even more excited about my purchase. I ended up with a Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN. Since so many GMTs have nicknames—Pepsi, Batman, Bruce Wayne, etc.—and this particular model is completely black, I’ve decided to call mine the “Dark Knight.” 🖤⌚ What also impressed me was the customer service after the purchase. I was traveling out of state afterward, and anytime I texted Tan with a question or concern, he was extremely responsive. He never made me feel like the service ended once the sale was complete, which I really appreciated. There was also an extremely small, minor imperfection that I noticed afterward. I reached out to Tan, and he and the team at Investment Watches immediately took care of it without charging me anything additional. Between Tan staying in communication with me while I was out of state and the company standing behind the watch, that really showed me the level of customer service they provide. I also want to mention something for anyone debating between going through an authorized dealer or buying from a reputable grey-market dealer. I have nothing against ADs, and I understand how their process works. But sometimes getting the Rolex you actually want can mean building a purchase history, spending money on other pieces you may not necessarily want, and then waiting months—or even years—hoping to eventually receive an allocation. For me, time has value too. When you add up the money you may spend building that relationship, along with the time spent waiting for an allocation that may or may not come, sometimes paying the grey-market premium makes a lot more sense. In some cases, you could ultimately spend less by simply buying the exact watch you want from the beginning—and you get to start enjoying your dream watch today instead of years from now. That’s what made my experience with Investment Watches so refreshing. I walked into their showroom, tried on the watches I was actually interested in, found the one I wanted, and walked away with my watch—no games, no purchase history, and no waiting for a phone call. If you’re looking for a luxury watch, I highly recommend reaching out to Tan. Whether you know exactly what you want or want to try on different pieces until you find the one, he’ll take care of you without making you feel pressured. I make it a practice of never leaving public reviews, HOWEVER, after my experience dealing with Investment Watches, I was so moved on so many levels, I needed to share for all the collectors out there. I have purchased watches from dealers around the globe and specifically, several dealers around the U.S. but Tan at Investment Watches quickly became our trusted and only choice for helping my wife and I build our respected collections. Aside from being an exceptional human, his approach to our family and our needs/wants is quite frankly, perfect. With the support of Jonas (also an exceptional new friend and guide) Tan has not just sourced and delivered beyond our expectations, but he has respectfully and humbly become a part of our family. Beyond Tan and Jonas, if you have the good fortune to have Laif work on one of your pieces — you have hit the trifecta. Again, having the pleasure of working with the finest watchmaker/specialists in the world, Laif is simply a magician. With that, and having spent quite a bit with Investment Watches, I felt that other collectors would appreciate some earned feedback. From prices to care, quality, delivery, and overall service, my only regret is that I didn’t lock in with this group sooner. There has not been one single moment of disappointment - period.
