I have been using this hosting company for at least 6 years, and throughout that time, they have been amazing. While yes, there are SOME cases where their support CAN be slow, usually they respond within 12-24 hours, depending on the issue. They are very accommodating and help with any issue you have. I've had over 26+ tickets (i labeled my first 26 tickets a-z lmao)
Server performance has been good. I have mostly used the Minecraft servers for personal and not actually public server stuff. When I did use the server for public stuff, it held up. I used their web service for years, and it was pretty good, especially their unlimited tier.
I use their VPS service a lot, too, and those are pretty good. I've only ever had 1 serious issue with my VPS, and it was fixed within 15-20 minutes of my ticket. The panel they use is very nice and easy to set up, which OS you want to use, and changing passwords and such.
They are also pretty quick with setting up services for new games like Hytale recently, and Palworld when that came out.
Love Rodrigo A. and Jeremiah B. they are very helpful both in the discord and in tickets.

I own a Minecraft network with over 200 concurrent users called DeathZone Network, and if you want a Minecraft server with hosting that has great support and a great CEO like Rodrigo, I definitely recommend HeavyNode. I've been a satisfied customer for over 3 years.

Don't Get a Managed Dedicated Server
I've been using HeavyNode for about a year and half now. When I decided to make my own server, I went with HeavyNode.
HeavyNode's prices are some of the best I've ever seen. HeavyNode is probably the only trustworthy host I've seen that actually offers prices as low as they do for the performance at hand. ESPECIALLY for shared hosting. I genuinely think their shared hosting plans (even the ones without dedicated cores), are amazing for the price. If you're buying a shared hosting service, I think HeavyNode is definitely the way to go.
Their panel is nice to look at and isn't full of a load of crap like other hosts. Everything I want from a panel, HeavyNode has, and the panel looks great. Some panels don't offer phpMyAdmin - HeavyNode does. Some panels don't let you change the startup command - HeavyNode does. In addition to that, you can choose what ports to allocate, and their panel is WAY better looking than some other ones I've seen.
Their support is good for the price and the size of the company. I think people are a bit too harsh on critcizing the support of HeavyNode. Their response times are usually within a day and they respond and handle tickets on weekends too a lot of the time. I also like the fact that you can get support through the Discord or just the traditional billing panel. For me personally, I don't mind either but I've seen hosts which force you to have a Discord account just to get support.
Now that I've gotten all the good stuff out of the way, let's talk about why I'm leaving 3 stars...
I've been renting one of HeavyNode's (managed) dedicated servers for almost a year straight now. In addition to that, I've been paying about $9 extra a month for offsite, managed backups. For starters, HeavyNode offers their panel and managed services on dedicated servers at no extra cost, which is great.
But recently, I needed to obtain a backup from my dedicated server because of some lost files. I contacted support and was told my backups couldn't be restored because:
"a PDU failure, looks like one of the daily backups was still in process and didn't complete correctly, which seems to have damaged a part of the backup repository for your server."
Again, I've been paying for a a dedicated server from HeavyNode for about a year now. I understand incidents do happen and cutting them slack is something I really wanted to do, but this incident made me lose all my trust in HeavyNode. I had been paying over $100+ USD per month to make sure I had my data secure when it clearly was not. If something major had happened and ALL my data was gone, I would have been completely out of luck.
For this reason, I decided to move from HeavyNode to another bare-metal host provider, and manage my panel and backups myself.
Combine this with a few other nuances, such as me not being able to change my dedicated server's primary port from 25565 to another split server forcing me to pay for an extra shared host server for my proxy.
Another time, I was charged $114 on the 5th of the month when my billing was due on the 19th. I was refunded for this incident, but it's things like this that just pile up and hurt the trust I have with the host.
Because of the lack of trust I have for HeavyNode's dedicated (managed) plans, I wouldn't recommend anyone to get them. If you want to get a dedicated server from HeavyNode, I recommend managing it yourself.
I really wanted to give HeavyNode a good review, especially since I've been with them for so long. But, the lack of trust with not knowing what might be happening on the backend of my managed server was just totally offputting and forced me to move hosts completely.

Response from HeavyNode· Jan 28, 2025
Hello Arnau,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate all kinds of feedback whether positive or negative.
We're sorry to hear that you've had a negative experience. However, what you've stated in this revew is simply not true - we have a variety of one-click OS templates for our VPS plans, and custom ISOs are supported on all our plans upon request. We even go as far as streamlining the VirtIO drivers on customer provided Windows ISOs where needed.
Upon reviewing your account and its support ticket history we have confirmed that we did offer you the ability to upload your own ISO - for which we aked you to provide a download URL - and we also suggested to try our one-click OS template for the same OS as a faster solution. After this, we didn't hear back from you at all in regard to this matter.
As per our refund policy, we can only approve a refund within the first 24 hours after the service has been activated. To determine whether an order qualifies for a refund, we use the time at which the support ticket was opened, not the time at which it gets handled/replied.
Best regards,
Rodrigo A.
Good Support, When Available..
I have used HeavyNode for over a year now, and I'm almost upset to have to leave it, but this was my final straw. I had an extremely long wait time for support, even with marking the ticket "high priority." Because of the wait, the misreading of my original ticket, and an unavailable live chat, my server was down for 2 full days. Which made the staff and players rather upset, and it was Frankly rather embarrassing.
This unfortunate event really overshadows the good things the HeavyNode team has done for me and my server, like being helpful with support, and while not always quick to respond, it was sometimes in a reasonable time depending on ticket priority.
I needed a backup save due to griefing. I asked for "As Close to 10:30 pm PST 10/16/23 as possible. So I think that's the midnight backup" and was given the noon backup, and had to wait again for the midnight backup. While I understand they have a smaller staff team, it is unacceptable to have a high priority ticket sit for 25 hours. And then not even give the correct fix due to misreading/misunderstanding the ticket. With another 18 hours to get the correct save.
I want to recommend the host as the servers them selves run alright, the prices arent too crazy (they do have sales semi-often) and their support, when you can reach them, is fine. But I can only recommend this service if you think you won't need any support as the wait times are just too much.
