Happy with SoCool's cooling capabilities

Super impressed with the performance of SoCool and the customer service I received. I was initially hesitant to purchase the feeder since it was more expensive than competitors on the market. I reached out to Happy Llama Tech to ask some questions about the feeder functionality and warranty before purchasing. They candidly answered all my questions. I also experienced some issues while ordering, and they resolved the problem quickly. When the feeder arrived, I took temperature readings with a temperature sensor sitting in the feeder bowl and with an instant thermometer reading of food left in the feeder. Both temperature measurements consistently read below 40F even when the room temperature was about 80F. I got the SoCool with the stainless steel inserts so it's very easy to clean. I also appreciate some other design choices the team has made that makes using this feeder easy. The lid twist and latches in place so my food-motivated cat can't open it and it makes the lid easily removable for cleaning. I also appreciate the hexagonal center design because it's easy to line up and place the bowl back. SoCool is operated by a third party app with basic functionality. That can be a pro and a con depending on what you need to program. The feeder has a sharp beep when it rotates which is the minor gripe I have about the product. I recommend this product if you have the budget for it. The user experience is smooth and the cooling functionality is better than a competitor's I have tried.

Hi Celine, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and kind words. It truly means a lot to us! We’ve worked hard to deliver true refrigerated performance matching the cooling power of your home fridge. We made a clear choice to prioritize performance over profits, using high-quality components to ensure food stays at a safe, FDA-recommended temperature. No other feeder on the market comes close to this level of refrigeration, which is why we always encourage pet parents to check the internal temperatures of any feeder that is intended to deliver fresh food. As for the meal chirp, thank you for the feedback! Fun fact...our original chirp was gentler, but some customers worried their pets wouldn’t hear it. We made adjustments to increase its intensity while also adding flexibility: you can now choose which meals have a sound alert. For example, you can enable the chirp during mid-day meals while you’re away and silence it during early mornings or late nights to avoid disruption. That said, many users eventually find the chirp isn’t needed at all. After a few weeks on a regular schedule, pets often show up right on time even without a sound cue. SoCool quickly becomes part of their routine. We’re grateful for your feedback and excited to keep improving. Please don’t hesitate to reach out anytime—we love hearing from you!
