Takes a little time in the beginning to train your dog with the collar - it’s not a magic collar that fixes the dog once you put it on - but if you follow the training lessons it definitely works! The gps can be a little off when setting up the fences - just double check with the collar before you put it on your dog (like it tells you to) - but I have a huge field not far from my house - and now it’s like my personal dog park - she can run to her hearts content around the field - and then just a whistle and she comes everytime. It’s a little pricey - but cheaper than building a bunch of fences or even putting down a bunch of electric fences! - and the app is very user friendly giving me notifications when my dog is outside and “testing” the boundaries. If you follow the training guide - you will be happy with the Halo collar!

The only reason I rate 1 star is no Zero Star is available to select. Training videos are junk and do not play, always I mean always endure a fatal error. It also took over 4 hours to complete the first 3 session which in theory should have only taken 30 minutes according to Halo Team! Do not waist your money, I am in hopes they will do the right thing and refund my $700.00 plus. I hope this helps someone who is really looking for a collar that will work, this will not! Initially I was nervous because when my dog was learning the beeps, vibrations, etc she went to her crate…. But she also acts like that if there’s a slight inconvenience to her so try anything. We continued the training and she got it down very quickly. We live on a river so she is very friendly and swims to our next door neighbors and invites herself over to hang out. The GPS / satellite is so helpful so we can put a fence in the water. She also likes saying hi to the neighbors across the street ( black lab, besties with anything and anyone- one years old). Now with the collar she’s learned her boundaries on both water and land. She hasn’t let it get past the warning beep which is good, and she always runs to the door if she does get a warning and we are not outside with her, which is phenomenal. She comes in wagging her tail, so she isn’t scared or shaken up from the warning. I recommend it to all my patients when we talk dogs.

This was my first experience reaching out to HALO for support. So far, I'm totally impressed. I got a hold of a REAL person quickly, very helpful and knowledgeable, spoke good English via Zoom. Don’t waste your time with this thing, it’s junk. They basically rely on you training your dog because the collar doesn’t work. It’s very finicky. Sitting inside it will start going off on her and eventually give a static correction because the GPS signal is showing full bars but not properly communicating and jumping all over until I reboot it. This happens outside as well. They tell you in the training consistency is key, the collar has no consistency whatsoever. Then during training they want you to setup these giant barriers on your lines when you can’t see the lines and even if you could, the collar isn’t consistent enough to actually issue a correction on the lines. How about incorporate flags into it? I talked to support which is only somewhat responsive and they want me to do this complicated GPS manual calibration on my own. No thanks. The only useful feature is being able to find your dog if it gets away with gps but there are much cheaper products out there that allow that. If you want to train your dog to stay in your yard on your own without any help from the collar then maybe halo is for you. But you could pay someone to train your dog for less than this collar and you want have the inconsistency of the collar to contend with. I’d advise getting invisible fence. I used to have that at another house and in 2 training sessions my dogs knew exactly where the boundaries were and wouldn’t cross them for years.
