GrecotelReviews of grecotel.com

August 2026- Writing a detailed review following a 7 night family stay at Grecotel Marine Palace and Aqua Park, aimed at providing an objective account of our actual experience for families considering this resort. SAFETY INCIDENTS REQUIRING INSPECTION AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSE The most critical concern during our stay involved specific safety incidents in the Aqua Park that warrant thorough inspection. A child in our party suffered a severe deep tissue injury while using the yellow tubing slide under normal conditions. Contact with the inner wall of the slide caused severe skin and tissue damage on the foot, requiring immediate medical care and ongoing treatment after returning home, leaving permanent scarring. Additionally, on the blue slide, riders routinely came to a complete stop mid ride during normal operation. These represent recurring physical occurrences that we personally experienced and documented on site. While the injury itself is unquestioned, the response of the hotel management was deeply unhelpful. Management dismissed our concerns, refused to share basic official documentation such as safety inspection logs, incident reports, or CCTV footage, and refused to address or compensate for direct medical and travel expenses. Management stated verbally that the facilities are compliant, yet provided no written inspection reports or official documentation to substantiate this. ROOMS AND ACCOMMODATION The guest rooms are outdated, basic, and poorly proportioned. Despite having ample physical space that could accommodate a comfortable sitting area, the room contained virtually no furniture beyond the basic bed setup, leaving the space feeling stark and empty. The material finishes are visibly old, and there is a clear lack of effort to modernize the accommodation or match contemporary resort standards. LOCATION AND RESORT AMENITIES The property is located in an isolated area with no attractions, shops, or dining options within walking distance. On overcast or rainy days, guests are forced to leave the property to seek entertainment elsewhere on the island. The organized entertainment operates with low quality props and minimal programming. Furthermore, the children facilities are unfairly distributed: a large, modern indoor game room on site is strictly reserved for a specific German travel group, whereas general hotel guests are left with a tiny, poorly ventilated, and under equipped room that cannot comfortably accommodate families. DINING AND SPECIALTY RESTAURANTS The specialty A la Carte restaurants feel more like a marketing gimmick than a genuine culinary experience. Rather than offering distinct menus, they serve essentially the same food as the main buffet, with minor thematic tweaks for Italian or Asian nights. While our 7 night booking included access to these venues, paying extra for them would be a complete waste of money. Guests are better served staying with the main dining hall. SUMMARY A family oriented resort must prioritize operational accountability, proper maintenance, and adequate guest facilities. The combination of documented safety incidents on child focused attractions, complete refusal by management to cooperate or share official records, and dated infrastructure makes it impossible to recommend this property.

We stayed at Grecotel White Luxme Palace and were really impressed. The hospitality manager met me personally to discuss allergies and arranged all restaurants to make me bespoke meals to accommodate this. The decor is stunning and the service is exceptional. The restaurant food is fantastic. I would definitely rate this as 5* and would visit other Grecotel resorts across Greece. Just wonderful

Awful. Stayed at Villa Rosa part of the grecotel. Second day went to the aqua-park and ended I hospital with multiple fractures in my nose. In need of surgery and the hotel even send me the bill For the taxi that took Me To the hospital and the medicine . They ignored my messages and didn’t even offer to cover the bill. Awful. Would never recommend.

We are currently staying at Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica as an extended family, having booked what is marketed as a 5-star LUXME – “Luxury Made Easy” experience. We still have 9 days of our holiday remaining. Unfortunately, our experience has left us wondering where either the luxury or the “easy” is. The rooms are basic, wherever you are situated. The food has been very disappointing — repetitive, often highly processed and simply not what we expected at this level of resort. Snacks are extremely limited. Around the beach and what is described as the water-park area, the only snacks we have found available are crêpes and ice cream. One of our biggest disappointments is the lack of service. Self-service appears to be the theme throughout the resort. There is only one pool where we have found an actual drinks bar. At the other pool areas, guests are reliant on self-service drinks machines, which in our experience frequently do not work properly. Even obtaining basic food and drinks included in the package can mean leaving the area and walking some distance to find them. The drinks provision itself is another example of where the reality falls short of what we expected. The self-service drinks machines around the resort are regularly surrounded by wasps, making something as simple as getting a drink unpleasant. The coffee is, in our opinion, comparable to something you would expect from a basic petrol-station machine rather than a 5-star LUXME resort. Even at breakfast, you cannot simply sit down and order a freshly prepared coffee — you are expected to use self-service coffee machines which we have found to be poorly maintained and unclean. For something marketed as “Luxury Made Easy”, very little actually feels easy. We have also had a concerning experience with the swimming pools. After using them, swimwear has developed a green discolouration and hair has also turned green. Whatever is causing this, we believe it warrants investigation. There are maintenance issues throughout parts of the resort and areas where we have concerns about hygiene. Some of what we have reported has been described as “wear and tear”, but in our opinion the overall condition simply does not reflect what we reasonably expected from a resort marketed and sold as 5-star LUXME. Mosquitoes are a significant problem, as are wasps. We have been told that spraying is not undertaken for environmental reasons, but the reality is that many guests appear extremely uncomfortable. What is particularly frustrating is that we are guests here on a family holiday, not the hotel’s quality-control team. We should not be spending our holiday identifying, photographing and repeatedly reporting problems with maintenance, hygiene, facilities, food, drinks and service. These are standards that should already be monitored and maintained by a resort marketed and sold as a 5-star LUXME experience. Our experience with the staff has been very mixed. We have met some exceptionally kind, friendly and hardworking people, while unfortunately some other interactions have felt rude and patronising. I do want to specifically mention the Operations Manager and Food & Beverage Manager, both of whom have genuinely tried their very best to make us more comfortable. This review is not a criticism of those individuals. The problem is that individual managers can only do so much when our concerns relate to the overall product and experience. We booked this as a special family holiday based upon the way this resort was marketed. We have raised our concerns while we are still here and have asked EasyJet Holidays to relocate us, but they have declined. We still have 9 days remaining, which is precisely why we tried to resolve this now rather than simply complain when we return home. I have travelled extensively and have never previously found myself wanting to leave a resort during my holiday. We are not expecting perfection. We simply expected to receive the experience that was advertised and for which we paid. The saddest part is that no compensation can give us these family days back. “LUXME – Luxury Made Easy.” After experiencing Costa Botanica ourselves, my question to Grecotel is very simple: What does “Luxury Made Easy” actually mean to you?

This hotel group and especially the Meli Palace is an absolute disaster. The management is untrustworthy. Decisions have consequences, and so does the way guests are treated. Their behavior separates someone from being a good human being or a person that treats other people with deliberate disregard and cruelty.

Having returned to Grecotel LUXME White several times over the years, it truly feels like a place we are always happy to come back to. Every visit has its own memories, but one thing remains constant – the people who make guests feel genuinely welcome. What makes this hotel so special is not only its beautiful location and facilities, but above all the team. Hospitality cannot be taught; it comes from people who genuinely care, and we were fortunate to meet many of them during our stay. A heartfelt thank you goes to Giorgos at Ventanas Il Mar, Dimitris at Tavernaki, Charlotte, whose wine recommendations always enhanced our dinners, Elisabeth at Lobsteria, Maria and Stavroula from Guest Services, Vasilis at the Spa, and Annita and Anda, who were serving drinks on the beach. Their warm smiles, natural kindness and genuine enthusiasm made every interaction a pleasure. The culinary experience was once again outstanding. The variety and quality of food throughout the resort were exceptional, with something to suit every taste. As my sister had some food allergy, I particularly appreciated how attentive and knowledgeable the restaurant teams were. Every question was taken seriously, allowing me to enjoy each meal with complete confidence. The service throughout the resort deserves special recognition. From the welcoming atmosphere on arrival to the attentive Guest Services team, the professional housekeeping staff and the many waiters who consistently delivered friendly and efficient service, we always felt well looked after. General Manager Mr Kontorinis ensured that we’ve enjoyed our stay to the most. Evenings at White Palace have their own special atmosphere. The Thursday night entertainment was fantastic, creating a lively yet elegant ambience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset Bar, where the bartenders not only prepared excellent cocktails but did so with skill, passion and a touch of showmanship that made every visit memorable. The Spa was another highlight of our stay. The treatments were excellent, and Mihalis’ professionalism and expertise made the experience particularly relaxing. As someone who enjoys staying active while travelling, I also appreciated the gym and especially the beautiful new running path, which made exercise a real pleasure. We leave once again with wonderful memories and, most importantly, with gratitude to the people whose professionalism, kindness and dedication represent Grecotel at its very best. They are the reason we keep returning, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

The activities were great. Water polo and volleyball especially. One snimation team member, Daniel, was especially exceptional. He was very enthusiastic and was good at volleyball apart from when the floor moved or the wind carried the ball away. Greek dancing night and class were both very fun. Food at the buffet was varied so didn't get boring and was nice. There was entertainment every night and regular activities throughout the day.

We recently stayed at the Eva Place Hotel in Corfu. Wonderful location, amazing staff and superb food. The buffet was great and the best we had experienced (having been on many cruises and hotels with this type of dining). There is also the opportunity to enjoy the amenities in the other neighbouring Grecotels. There was 4 in our group - my wife and I and our daughter and boyfriend - we would like to thank all at the Eva Palace for a great week.
